Leftist “protesters” vandalized, torched and toppled a George Washington statue in Portland, Oregon to promote “racial equality” in the name of the militant Black Lives Matter movement.
The statue of the nation’s first president was spray-painted with the words “genocidal colonist,” “f*ck cops” and “1619” before it was pulled down by an angry mob.
The brouhaha erupted shortly after 10 p.m. yesterday when 20 people gathered near the statue. Some wrapped the statue’s head in an American flag and lit it on fire.
When more people joined the mob, they pulled the monument down with a rope. The crowd quickly dispersed once police arrived, CBS Portland reported.

The number “1619” was spray-painted across the George Washington statue to protest the year that African slaves landed in the United States.
For the record, slavery existed on every continent in the world for centuries before it came to America. Every race was enslaved at some point; slavery is not an experience that is unique to black Americans.
Yet black Americans and patronizing white leftists are the only ones that incessantly howl about an institution that a Republican president ended 155 years ago.
Portland wakes up to see what antifa did overnight. A century old statue of George Washington was toppled & set on fire with an American flag. “White fragility,” “Damn white men” & other messages are written on the moment. On the ground nearby: “Defund white men.” pic.twitter.com/zjrsZHJC9o

To this day, black slavery exists in many Muslim countries around the world. Predictably, there’s no left-wing outrage or media hysteria over the oppression of blacks in the Middle East or Africa.

President Donald Trump foresaw the Left’s attacks on George Washington statues three years ago.
“Is it George Washington next week and is it Thomas Jefferson the week after? Where does it stop?” Trump said in August 2017.
Trump continued, “George Washington was a slave owner. So will George Washington lose his status? Are we gonna take down statues to George Washington? How about Thomas Jefferson? He was a major slave owner. Are we gonna take down his statue?”

Around the country, leftists are rioting, looting and burning down cities while Democrats coddle these thugs and encourage their mass destruction.
Last week, a Confederate statue fell on the head of a Black Lives Matter protester and cracked his skull open after fellow rioters tore it down.
That hasn’t stopped them from destroying other statues, including those of Christopher Columbus, Mahatma Gandhi, and Abraham Lincoln.
What’s next? The Washington Monument? How about Mount Rushmore?
The race-baiting left first began destroying Confederate statues in 2017, shortly after President Trump took office. Leftists apparently had no issues with these same statues during the eight-year presidency of Barack Obama.
The historical monuments only became “racist” after President Trump took office. Why? Because today’s radical left is marked by hypocrisy, willful ignorance of facts, criminal behavior, and selective outrage.

In August 2017, NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley slammed leftists who destroyed statues they suddenly found racist, saying it’s stupid and pointless. Barkley was born in the South and has voted for Democrats most of his life.
“I’m not going to waste my time worrying about these Confederate statues,” Barkley said. “That’s wasted energy. If you ask most black people, they haven’t thought a day in their lives about those stupid statues.”
If monuments to slavery are being torn down, what’s next? How about the Taj Mahal in India or the pyramids in Egypt? They were built by slaves.
Why aren’t leftists targeting statues and institutions named after racist Democrat Lyndon Johnson?
“Another episode of white privilege?”
Many observers say the sudden interest the Left has taken in stoking a race war is all about the November 3 election.
It has nothing to do with “social justice” for black people. They’re merely pawns having their strings pulled like puppets in a Democrat power grab.

Google searches for “Black Lives Matter” peaked right before the 2016 election. Then interest in it cratered right afterward.
Now — months before the 2020 presidential election — Google searches for the term are spiking again. How convenient.
