‘Please don’t ever call yourself a Journalist’: Janice Dean takes on ‘disgraceful’ GMA host for gushing interview with Gov. Cuomo

The liberal media’s treatment of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and his handling of the coronavirus pandemic is a case study in biased journalism in the year 2020.

And there are a few, like Fox News’ Janice Dean, calling attention to the “disgraceful” display.

As more and more Democrats get nervous about Joe Biden being the party’s nominee for president, given all the questions about his mental agility, there is a movement to elevate Cuomo as a possible alternative leading up to the 2020 Democratic National Convention.

The Democratic governor appeared Wednesday on “Good Morning America,” and the interview included a focus on his future political aspirations.

“You have been commended for your clear and your calm leadership,” host Amy Robach said. “People from all over the country and the world have tuned in to your press conferences. Your statewide approval rating — a career-high 84%. You came in second only to President Obama as the most trusted Democratic leader in America. How do you intend on spending that political capital that you’ve earned?”

Talk about a setup!

Cuomo played the modest public servant in his response, only focused on the good of the people.

“Do you feel responsible for the New Yorkers who died in this pandemic?” Robach then asked.

“I think the New Yorkers who died did not die because we failed them,” the governor said. “We got them a hospital bed, which we didn’t know that we could. We got them a nurse with [personal protective equipment], with a mask, with a gown. We got them a doctor. We got them a ventilator.”

“Everyone who died, we did everything we could,” Cuomo added.

Never mind that much of what he spouted was the result of President Donald Trump intervening, the remark about doing “everything we could” was not challenged.

GMA noted that New York was “hard hit” by COVID-19, but there was no curiosity over any role Cuomo may have played here.

New York has seen over 24,500 deaths, while Florida, which has 2 million more people, has seen under 3,000 deaths — Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis faces a lot of media scrutiny over his handling of the pandemic.

But even more troubling are the deaths in nursing homes in New York, the totals are closing in on 6,000.

On March 25, Gov. Cuomo required nursing homes to take in coronavirus patients — an order he would be forced to later override.

A Republican governor would never live down such a failed decision.

Dean, a resident of New York, fired back at a clip of the interview GMA touted on Twitter, calling Robach out for gushing and fawning over the Democrat.

“You are all disgraceful,” she tweeted. “Please don’t ever call yourself a Journalist @arobach. I actually thought you might hold @NYGovCuomo’s feet to the fire but instead you just gushed and fawned over him.”

“He helped kill thousands of our loved ones,” Dean added.
