Scores of Americans were outraged after seeing a picture of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) presenting an American flag to the family of George Floyd as though he had been killed fighting for the country.
The photo, which was seen posted on various social media sites, was confirmed as genuine by BizPac Review after locating it as part of a collection involving the family of Floyd on Pelosi’s official Twitter feed.
“Philonise Floyd’s heart-wrenching testimony to @HouseJudiciary left its mark on us all. May this flag, which flew over the Capitol on the day of his brother’s murder, serve as a symbol of our shared commitment to securing justice for George & all victims of police violence,” she wrote on her post containing the photo.

“If I would have died in the middle East as a contractor, I’m not even sure I could have been shipped home without a charter flight, let alone the honor of getting any kind of military rights and, with a record like this, I wouldn’t have a job,” wrote one user who tweeted a pic of Floyd’s extensive rap sheet in Texas.

According to the UK’s Daily Mail, Floyd — prior to moving to Minneapolis to allegedly turn his life around — had served time in Texas for armed robbery, as well as having a number of other arrests on his record.
In all, he had five separate stints in jail, according to a Daily Mail investigation that cited criminal and court records.
“The final straw for Floyd came after serving five years in prison in 2009 for aggravated assault stemming from a robbery in 2007 where he entered a woman’s home, pressed a gun into her stomach and searched the home for drugs and money, according to court records,” the news site reported.
Floyd pleaded guilty to the robbery which involved several suspects, including one who posed as a worker for the local water department.
His criminal record dates back to the late 1990s.
And while Floyd may have made some improvements in his life — and did not deserve to be killed at the hands of police — the 46-year-old was being arrested at the time for allegedly passing a phony $20 bill.
And the honor bestowed on his family in his behalf angered Americans who think it was inappropriate pandering.
This picture needs to go viral, we need to piss off all veterans, and current military personal, and families of our fallen heros!

Gee, I actually served and never received a nice flag case from the government for the flag I had to purchase myself 🤷🏻♂️

Makes me angry. My children have my Father’s flag, Col. in the US Army, WWII. He was a hero. He earned his flag. … OH and never a felony (or misdemeanor )

I couldn’t imagine being a veteran who lost a limb or lost a buddy in war sitting there watching her present this flag. George Floyd didn’t give his life for freedom and he doesn’t deserve the honor. His family should have said no thanks!!

He was a freaking career criminal that was murdered by a bad cop, he doesn’t deserve that honor.

She doesn’t care. She’s a pandering coward.

For a career criminal? What about the two BLACK officers murdered during the riots?! Where is their flag?? Where was the 24/7 media coverage for them??
Their careers were to protect and serve! And they died doing just that.

As Fox News reported, Floyd’s brother, Philonise Floyd, asked Pelosi before his testimony last week before the House whether police reforms would ultimately be passed in the wake of George’s death.
“The question] coming from him — it had power,” Pelosi, D-Calif., said. “And I had an answer: Yes, it will be passed because the public insists upon it.”
