A poll commissioned by the Club for Growth, a conservative pro-market organization, shows that a majority of Democrats want to nominate New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo as the party’s nominee over former Vice President Joe Biden.
The evolution of Cuomo as a party favorite in light of the impact COVID-19 has had on his state is a case study in media bias in America in the year 2020.
Though Cuomo has overseen what can only be described as a nursing home disaster, with his direction playing a significant role, the liberal media continues to praise his leadership in the crisis.
On March 25, Cuomo required nursing homes to take in coronavirus patients — an order he would be forced to later override. Deaths in the long-term care facilities are reportedly closing in on 6,000 in the state.
Overall, New York has seen over 30,000 deaths as a result of a virus imported from Wuhan, China — in comparison, Florida, which has 2 million more people, has seen 2,925 deaths.
But that hasn’t stopped the Democratic governor from touting his efforts online, as seen in a tweet last week bragging that his state “crushed” the curve.
We did the impossible.
On Monday NYC will open phase one.
We didn’t just flatten the curve — we crushed it. #NYTough

And with serious concerns about 77-year-old Biden’s mental agility and whispers that he may be experiencing early signs of senility, Cuomo is seen by many on the left as a better alternative to take on President Donald Trump.
At the same time, there are millions eagerly awaiting the Trump-Biden presidential debates.
The poll was conducted April 3-6 and shared exclusively with the New York Post.
More from the Post:
The national poll found 56 percent of Democrats prefer Cuomo, with 44 percent wanting to stick with presumptive nominee Biden — a 12-point margin well outside the 4.8 percent margin of error for the Democratic sample.
Hispanic voters, young people, women and self-identified liberals are most likely to favor dumping the former vice president for Cuomo.
Even with black voters, who some see as Biden strength, there is more support for Cuomo.
“Among black voters — who helped Biden defeat Democratic primary rival Sen. Bernie Sanders — 55 percent favored Cuomo, with just 45 percent wanting to keep Biden,” the paper reported.
As the article noted, Cuomo served up the prerequisite denial of being interested in running in late March.
During an interview with his brother, CNN’s Chris Cuomo, the governor was asked about it — just as you might expect a brother to ask.
“With all of this adulation you’re getting for doing your job, are you thinking about running for president?” Chris asked.
“No, no,” Gov. Cuomo replied.
Club for Growth vice president of communications Joe Kildea told The Post that the poll results highlight Biden’s weakness as a candidate.
“With every major news event, Democrats realize more and more how bad of a candidate Joe Biden is,” Kildea said. “And Democrats now preferring Cuomo is just another example.”

Cuomo is directly responsible for the deaths of thousands of elderly in the state of NY. He bled upstate NY dry to prop up NYC. Upstate New Yorkers are dying under the weight of the highest tax rates in the country. Almost all of the manufacturing industry has been taken away.

If New Yorkers think Cuomo is a jerk, why would anyone outside of NY think more favorably of him?
