President Trump visited St. John’s Episcopal Church on June 1 after leftists set fire to it the previous day during the riots and looting that occurred in Democrat-run cities across the country.

Trump walked out the front door of the White House like a boss into Lafayette Square — where left-wing protesters were harassing police and trashing property — to visit historic St. John’s Church.

Senator Marco Rubio tweeted: “Many in the media fell for the calculated and deliberate tactics of professional agitators. They knew the street needed to be cleared before 7 pm curfew. But they deliberately stayed to trigger police action and get the story they wanted, that “police attacked peaceful protestors.”

Predictably, Democrats Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer pounced on President Trump for visiting the church and in so doing, sending the message to rioters that he will not cede the country to lawlessness and anarchy.

In a statement, Speaker Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Schumer blasted Trump.

“At a time when our country cries out for unification, this President is ripping it apart. Tear-gassing peaceful protestors without provocation just so that the President could pose for photos outside a church dishonors every value that faith teaches us.”

For the record, police say no tear gas was used.

Naturally, Pelosi and Schumer said nothing when their presidential candidate, Joe Biden, staged a contrived photo op where he opportunistically tokenized a black protester to shamelessly pander for black votes.

While Democrats blasted President Trump for using police force to clear protesters who had swarmed the White House, they ignored the violent riots and looting that destroyed left-wing cities.

Muriel Bowser, the Democratic mayor of Washington, D.C., had imposed a 7 p.m. curfew on Monday night amid fears of more rioting and looting.

By loitering in front of the White House, the protesters were violating curfew. Naturally, two-timed failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton seized on the moment to criticize President Trump.

Hillary tweeted: “Tonight the President of the United States used the American military to shoot peaceful protestors with rubber bullets and tear gas them. For a photo op. This is a horrifying use of presidential power against our own citizens and has no place anywhere, let alone in America.”

Twitter users fired back at the disgruntled Hillary, who’s still seething that she lost the 2016 election.

President Trump won praise for showing strength during the left-wing riots. Fox News reporter Kristin Fisher (a frequent Trump critic) was begrudgingly amazed that Trump was undeterred by the mob protesting outside the White House.

Fisher tweeted: “I almost can’t believe what I’m seeing. POTUS just walked out the front door of the White House and into Lafayette Square – the epicenter of the DC protests – to visit historic St. John’s Church, which was set on fire last night.”

Eric Trump tweeted that he was “so proud” of his dad. Eric noted: “This is strength. This is leadership. This is the exact backbone we need to stop this anarchy and lawlessness.”

Former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino simply tweeted: “Balls of STEEL.”

Townhall editor Katie Pavlich summed up the hypocritical media coverage best when she remarked: “I see there are many people, most in media, more upset about President Trump walking to St. John’s Church and holding up a bible than they were about the church being lit on fire by rioters last night.”

Former Wisconsin governor Scott Walker (a one-time Trump foe) tweeted: “Hard to imagine any other POTUS having the guts to walk out of the White House like this.”

Jenna Ellis, a legal advisor to the Trump team, wrote: “THIS MOMENT was huge today. President Donald Trump took a firm stand for legitimate authority over our nihilistic postmodern society that denies objective truth. American greatness has always been to advance a more perfect Union, not to tear it down in tyranny or chaos of anarchy.”

Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham reminded Americans that Barack Obama did nothing to promote race relations during his eight years as president.
