‘America has had enough!’ Police chief in tears describing rioters setting home ablaze with a child inside, blocking fire crew

The depravity seen in the streets of America over the past several days speaks to the organizing strength of the institutional left, as radical elements exploit the case of an abusive police officer facing the consequences of his actions to rain down mayhem.

With anarchists and other violent elements taking control of the streets as politicians force a timid police response, and business owners are being beaten to within an inch of their lives, there was a troubling incident in Richmond, Virginia, that reduced the police chief to tears.

“One incident that is particularly poignant, that truly illustrates the seriousness of the issues we’re facing,” Police Chief William Smith said during a weekend news briefing.

“Last night protesters intentionally set fire to an occupied building on [West] Broad Street,” he continued. “This is not the only occupied building that has been set fire to in the last two days, but they prohibited us from getting on the scene. We had to force our way to make a clear path for the fire department.”

It was at this point that he emphasized that a child was in the home that was ablaze.

“The protesters intercepted the fire apparatus several blocks away with vehicles and blocked that fire department’s access to the structure fire,” Smith noted. “Inside that home was a child.”

Choking up, the police chief struggled to explain officers were successful in pulling the people out of the home and getting the fire department to the scene.

With his emotions getting the better of him, Smith paused for several seconds, trying to compose himself.

“When you take a legitimate issue and hijack it for unknown reasons,” he added, with great emotion, “That is unacceptable to me, it’s unacceptable to the Richmond Police Department, unacceptable to the city of Richmond.”

There is an ugliness being seen in the riots these past few days that is foreign to most Americans. While the media continues to push a false narrative of “peaceful protests,” vicious attacks are being witnessed.

Shop owners being severely beaten, police being stabbed and shot, and even run over by cars — all the while the media is busy looking the other way, reporting on police abuse or attacking President Donald Trump for trying to bring law and order back to American cities.

American cities that, almost to the last one, are run by Democrats who have all but handcuffed law enforcement with progressive policing tactics, which brings a timid response to the violent thugs.

As National Review’s Andrew McCarthy wrote, “Passivity, conveying the message that the laws will not be enforced, is provocative. It increases the appetite for rioting, which is only sated once the sociopaths have run out of things to burn and loot.”

In the end, those bringing destruction to the streets have a far greater agenda than the needless death of a black man that every American agrees was mistreated.

These people hate America and everything good about it, and their goal is to see the country fall, to “transform” it into something that you’d never recognize.

In support of the president’s call Monday night for order, even if that means bringing in the U.S. military, McCarthy hit the nail on the head.

“What has happened over the last few nights in major cities of the United States is unacceptable,” the columnist said. “It has gotten worse because the federal and state governments have failed to convey the signal that order will be maintained and the rule of law enforced.

“That must end,” he continued. “The president and governors must work together to restore order, including by deployment of the military where that is necessary.

“Anti-America must be made to understand that America has had enough.”
