Dan Bongino: The radical-left formally divorced itself from America last night

Dan Bongino insists that the civil unrest across the country after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody constitutes domestic terrorism rather than a civil rights protest.

Instead, it’s an insurrection or a coup attempt by the radical, Trump-hating left to overthrow the fundamentals of a peaceful American society where the rule of law should ordinarily prevail.

On Fox & Friends this morning, the former NYPD cop and Secret Service agent condemned the Antifa-led riots that resulted in looting, property damage, and physical attacks which is forcing America to lose sight of the importance of rendering justice for George Floyd and his family.

“This isn’t a protest anymore. This is a coup. This is an organized, internal coup by a small group of agitators acting as a domestic terror group. That’s a fact…this isn’t a protest anymore. I’ve been listening to your show all morning…and what you said before is accurate. This is not a protest anymore, not by our choosing. It should have been a protest.

“There were legitimate reasons looking at the tape of Mr. Floyd for all Americans who agreed in unanimity for one of the first times that I have seen probably in the last probably 10 years that there was something seriously wrong there.

“And you know what we’re not talking about? Any of that — because we’re talking about an Antifa group, an organized group of agitators committing, unquestionably now, to the destruction of the United States. And let me just say, with regard to these now riots…the time to protest is now past, because the legitimate protesters are now being attacked, some of the same people, by these Antifa folks and others committed to the destruction of the United States.”

Bongino added that officials in Democrat-controlled cities have failed to enforce law and order.

“And crowd control is not the most difficult part of policing. It’s tough. Riot control is. And sadly, some police departments due to political leadership, and bad political leadership, have let this evolve into a riot from a protest. It’s very difficult to put a lid on that.”

In a Fox & Friends appearance yesterday, Bongino insisted that protesters are being led astray by “by one or two moron losers, zeros, dregs on society that get everybody whipped up into a frenzy.”

Based on his experience at the 2004 Republican National Convention, New York City police specifically under ex-Mayor Rudy Giuliani and the “Giuliani approach” that continued after he left office in 2001 would have arrested the first wave of violent protesters immediately before things got out of hand.

“The first dude who throws a rock goes to jail. The second one who throws a rock goes to jail. I’m telling you, there’s no third rock…and this let them vent strategy, which has been tried before…is nonsense. You’re costing people their lives and their businesses. This is not Beirut.”
