A new book about the late Jeffrey Epstein reveals details about an alleged affair between British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell and former President Bill Clinton.
Maxwell, who allegedly helped recruit young girls for Epstein, the convicted pedophile who died while awaiting trial in a New York prison last year, was often seen with Clinton, according to the forthcoming book.
In “A Convenient Death: The Mysterious Demise of Jeffrey Epstein,” investigative reporters Alana Goodman and Daniel Halper relay details of Epstein’s life and death and reveal that Clinton would allegedly have sex with Maxwell on overseas trips aboard Epstein’s private plane, dubbed the “Lolita Express.”
“Across the world, a sinister web of powerful billionaires, celebrities and political players, including Bill and Hillary Clinton, had reason to sigh with relief at news of Epstein’s death,” a description of the book, due out June 2, said on the publisher’s website. “Having flown on his private planes and visited his many homes—the sites of so many illicit activities—they had much to lose if their transgressions were ever exposed. And now, Epstein was silenced for good.”
The former president reportedly was connected to Epstein because of Maxwell, according to sources quoted in the book in an excerpt obtained by the New York Post.
“[Bill] and Ghislaine were getting it on,” one source said in an interview. “That’s why he was around Epstein—to be with her.”
They were pictured together on Epstein’s plane back in the early 2000s, though Clinton has maintained that he knew nothing of the billionaire’s sexual abuse of underage girls. The source told the book’s authors that claims that Clinton was involved in the sex crimes were not true as he was more interested in Maxwell and he was “stupid but not an idiot.”
“You couldn’t hang out with her without being with him,” the source said, adding that “Clinton just used him like everything else,” apparently referring to using Epstein as an alibi for the affair.
The book also notes that the alleged relationship between the ex-president and Epstein’s former girlfriend and long-time employee was not limited to the plane trips, claiming that he visited her at her Upper East Side townhouse on several occasions.
The two reportedly were seen together at many events in New York City, and Maxwell soon “became somewhat of a fixture” at events held by the Clinton Global Initiative and Clinton Foundation. She was even one of the guests invited to attend Chelsea Clinton’s wedding in 2010, held at the former Astor estate in Rhinebeck, New York.
The 58-year-old has disappeared from public life following Epstein’s death and, though she was accused of being the billionaire’s “madam” by recruiting young girls, Maxwell has never been charged with a crime and denies the allegations.
“She absolutely denies that she participated in this or any other sexual abuse or trafficking or assault, and no court, judge or jury has ever determined that she has,” Maxwell’s attorney Laura Menninger said, according to ABC News.
The upcoming book follows the release of a new Netflix documentary series which claimed Clinton was seen with Epstein on his private Caribbean island. A longtime worker on what was called “orgy island” claimed he saw the men sitting together on the front porch of the villa of the island where the sex offender notoriously brought teenage girls for sex parties.
“You tell yourself that you didn’t know for sure and you never really saw anything, but that’s all just rationalization,” Steve Scully, a 70-year-old former tech worker said in the documentary, “Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich.”
“Jeffrey Epstein, he was a guy who concealed his deviance very well — but he didn’t conceal it that well,” Scully added.
Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who claimed to have been Epstein’s “sex slave” when she was only 17, alleged that she had seen Clinton on the island once as well but had not had any sexual relations with him.
Clinton spokesman Angel Urena denied any of the stories about the former president and Epstein.
“This was a lie the first time it was told, and it isn’t true today, no matter how many times it’s repeated,” Urena told the New York Post.
