U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan predicted a “Great American Comeback” and blasted Democrats for playing politics with the nation’s economic recovery.
The Ohio Republican spoke with Fox News host Shannon Bream on Tuesday about a new report showing potentially strong economic growth for the country ahead as states begin to reopen after months of coronavirus shutdowns. But the good news for Americans is apparently not being celebrated by Democrats who fear a rebounding economy will help President Donald Trump in November.

“He built the greatest economy in 50 years,” Jordan said about the president during his appearance on “Fox News @ Night.”
“I think, as the president says, as the economists are saying — I think it’s an Obama economist – they’re saying we’re going to have this good ‘V-shaped recovery,’ which I call the Great American Comeback. I think it’s going to happen, it’s going to be strong, it’s going to be robust,” he added. “It’s going to be hopefully like where we were just a few months ago before this shutdown.”
A top former economic adviser to Obama spoke about the coming “explosive” growth in the economy in a recent Politico report announcing the “general election scenario that Democrats are dreading.”
“We are about to see the best economic data we’ve seen in the history of this country,” former Obama administration adviser Jason Furman told a group of bipartisan officials in early April, catching them off guard as the coronavirus pandemic at the time appeared to be ushering in a climate worse than that of the Great Depression.
“Everyone looked puzzled and thought I had misspoken,” Furman told Politico about the Zoom conference call with former Cabinet secretaries and Federal Reserve chairs. And his continued stance on the issue has Democrats understandably worried.

Larry Kudlow, head of the White House National Economic Council, agreed with Furman.
“Q3 may be the single best GDP quarter since regular data. 2nd half super big growth, transitioning to 4% or more in 2021,” he told Politico in a text message.
Jordan agreed that the predictions of a recovering economy are correct and that states lifting pandemic restrictions, allowing Americans to return to work, is key to the process.
“Back-to-work actually works,” he said. “That’s the best stimulus there is. And I think you’re going to see what this economist talked about.”
But the GOP lawmaker slammed Democrats for their “animosity” toward Trump which prevents their cooperation and support in any bipartisan measures to help the country get back on its feet. Democratic governors in many states continued to keep lockdowns and other coronavirus-related measures in place, resisting pleas from the president, some health experts and even their own constituents to open back up.
“The Democrats right away go to politics,” Jordan told Bream.
“Why can’t we all just be for what’s good for the country? It’s good for America, if we have a strong recovery, if we have that V, if we have this great American comeback,” he said.
“That’s good for the country,” Jordan added. “But the Democrats always think politically ’cause their animosity and animus to the president is just so strong — and that’s unfortunate.”
Social media users reacted to the Politico report and slammed Democrats for caring more about their political agenda than the people they are supposed to represent.
Great economic news should make everyone happy regardless of one’s political affiliation…

Imagine wishing for economic collapse and bankruptcy for tens of millions of your fellow Americans just so your team can win.

This is why states with D governors refuse to open up. They stopped following science a month ago. We are just their pawns.

A thriving market economy that provides citizens with job opportunities, choice, and mobility to advance their lives according to their own expectations is what most common sense responsible people want. The Dems want citizens powerless, immobile, and dependent on government

A big “worry” that the country could have economic growth? That should tell us what we need to know about which party should have the keys.
