Amy Cooper, the woman made famous for threatening to sic the police on a black man during an incident that occurred in Central Park on Monday, is allegedly a liberal Democrat who previously donated to the likes of Barack Obama, Pete Buttigieg and John Kerry.

The allegation is based on leaked campaign contribution information that was picked up by a contributor for The Independent but that hasn’t yet been acknowledged or confirmed true by any other mainstream outlet, thus raising concerns about its legitimacy.

“[C]ampaign contribution information — with donations to Democrats such as Barack Obama, Pete Buttigieg, and John Kerry — leaked online earlier today appeared to suggest that Amy actually identifies as a liberal,” Nylah Burton, a freelance writer known for focusing on race issues, wrote in a report Tuesday.

She rightly noted that, if true, this finding would contradict the unhinged claims that have surfaced on Twitter that Cooper is somehow representative of President Donald Trump and the conservative movement in general.

It’s a strange allegation to posit given as presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden was seen only days earlier lecturing black people that they “ain’t black” unless they vote for him over Trump in the upcoming 2020 general election.

It’s even stranger when you factor in all the evidence that it’s left-wing liberal Democrats who view blacks and other minorities as being somehow inferior.

A study published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Personality and Social Psychology two years ago found that when speaking with minorities, Democrats tend to dumb down their words, whereas Republicans tend to speak the same as usual.

As an example of how this works, The Washington Post asked readers at the time to imagine that hey had just joined a book club and been asked by the club secretary to submit an email describing their thoughts on the club’s latest assigned reading.

“A new study suggests that the words you use may depend on whether the club secretary’s name is Emily (‘a stereotypically White name,’ as the study says) or Lakisha (‘a stereotypically Black name’),” the Post reported.

“If you’re a white liberal writing to Emily, you might use words like ‘melancholy’ or ‘euphoric’ to describe the mood of the book, whereas you might trade these terms out for the simpler ‘sad’ or ‘happy’ if you’re corresponding with Lakisha.”

As noted earlier, it’s not clear though that the leaked campaign contribution information picked up by The Independent actually pertains to the Amy Cooper involved in the Central Park incident. According to HuffPost, she may in fact be a Canadian citizen.

Conversely, if you were a white conservative, you were most likely to speak normally regardless of the recipient and his or her race.

“Her now-deleted LinkedIn profile revealed that Cooper went to school in Canada, at the University of Waterloo,” the outlet reported. “Her name appears in a Waterloo student publication, but there’s evidence yet that she’s a Canadian citizen though people on social media have called for her deportation.”

Federal Election Commission guidelines state that campaigns are prohibited from accepting contributions from “foreign nationals,” and so if she is indeed Canadian — an allegation that also hasn’t been confirmed — the contribution information picked up by The Independent may pertain to some other New York-based Amy Cooper.

That being said, supposing she is technically a Canadian, it’s a fact that Canada is a mostly liberal Democrat country. Moreover, her since-disabled LinkedIn profile showed her living and working in New York City, one of America’s most far-left cities.

Writing for The Independent, Burton herself noted that even if Cooper is Canadian, the remaining evidence still points to her being a liberal Democrat.

“There’s a chance the Amy Cooper we see in that viral video may not be the same Amy Cooper whose details were leaked onto social media — but as a New York City resident, she’s still statistically much likely to be a Democrat than a Republican, and the conversation about white liberal racism is long overdue,” she opined.

White liberal racism indeed.
