Democrat Speaker Nancy Pelosi was cheered by Twitter leftists for fat-shaming President Trump after saying he shouldn’t take hydroxychloroquine because he’s “morbidly obese.”
Pelosi made the dig while discussing Trump’s revelation that he has been taking hydroxychloroquine for almost two weeks to prevent getting the coronavirus.
Numerous physicians have said that many front-line medical workers take hydroxychloroquine as a prophylactic (preventative measure) before they start their hospital shifts.
Pelosi, 80, then fat-shamed Trump, 73.
Keep in mind that liberals have trashed President Trump for fat-shaming comedian Rosie O’Donnell (who got weight-loss surgery because she was morbidly obese). But the left’s constant fat-shaming of Trump is perfectly acceptable and encouraged.
“I would rather he not be taking something that has not been approved by the scientists [at the FDA], especially in his age group, and in his, shall we say, weight group — which is morbidly obese,” Pelosi said. “So I think it’s not a good idea.”
For the record, hydroxychloroquine was approved by the scientists at the FDA to treat malaria in 1955. That’s more than 65 years ago. It is also widely used to treat the auto-immune diseases lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.
Hydroxychloroquine has not yet been approved by the FDA to treat COVID-19, but many physicians have successfully treated coronavirus patients with the drug.
Moreover, many nurses and doctors on the front lines take hydroxychloroquine as a preventative measure so they don’t get infected while treating COVID-19 patients.
In April, Dr. Marc Siegel of NYU’s Langone Hospital revealed that hydroxychloroquine saved the life of his 96-year-old father when he was battling the coronavirus.
Yesterday, Dr. Siegel told Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson that he’s disgusted that the left is politicizing an established drug in order to attack President Trump.
“This drug hydroxychloroquine — which we’ve used in millions of people against malaria [as a] prophylaxis — is used for lupus and other rheumatological problems,” Siegel said. “A top rheumatologist told me that in the lab, it shows anti-viral activity against COVID-19. It prevents uptake in the cells and also decreases the inflammation that we’re seeing with this virus.”

Dr. Siegel said it’s perfectly okay for President Trump to take hydroxychloroquine since he did it in consultation with his physician.
“When Dr. Sean Conley, the president’s physician, weighs the options, he decides to prescribe it for the president,” Siegel said. “It is a doctor-patient decision. It should not be challenged.”
He underscored: “It is a medical decision made between a doctor and a patient. You can prescribe it off-label, so I don’t think it’s wild. I think it’s reasonable. That drug saved my father’s life.”
Dr. Siegel said the left’s politicization of the coronavirus crisis and its attempts to constantly undermine President Trump have caused hydroxychloroquine to take a back seat despite its promising track record.
“This political fighting over the virus interferes with the actual medicine [treatments] we are seeing here,” Siegel said. “And I’m deeply disturbed by that.”
As for President Trump, he has admitted that he needs to lose weight. But he’s not morbidly obese. Trump has said he’s 6-foot-3 and weighs 243 pounds.
You’re considered morbidly obese if you’re 100 pounds over your ideal body weight. Trump is nowhere near 100 pounds above his ideal weight.
Predictably, anything anti-Trump immediately trends on Twitter, so it’s no surprise that the hashtag #MorbidlyObese was trending for hours after Pelosi’s fat-shaming jab.

One Twitter user said Pelosi’s fat-shaming was a “girl boss” thing to do.
it slaps that the speaker of the house invited hoards of people to participate in fat shaming by using language that would trigger waves of fat jokes. this is an extremely Yass Kween™️ Girl Boss™️ thing to do and i am editing a crown on her head as we speak. #morbidlyobese

Comedian Terrence Williams said Nancy Pelosi shouldn’t throw stones about anyone’s appearance because she lives in a glass house with her plastic, melting face.
Williams wondered: “What in the Crisco is going on, Nancy? Girl, is that vegetable oil rubbed on your face?”
(Repeated Botox injections make your face look greasy and shiny.)

There’s rampant speculation that Nancy Pelosi got plastic surgery and other cosmetic enhancements during the shutdowns — in defiance of her own exhortation for Americans to remain under house arrest.

Republican political strategist Seth Weathers said what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.
“I’m glad we know it’s safe to refer to [the morbidly obese] Stacey Abrams as “morbidly obese.” Thanks Speaker Pelosi!” he tweeted
