Pat Sajak is apparently not playing games with bubble-dwelling, remote-working media industry members, which by extension also includes self-involved Hollywood celebrities, whose livelihood and bank account are left untouched by the coronavirus lockdown.
Reminding them how they enjoy a fortunate lifestyle, the longtime Wheel of Fortune host took to Twitter to provide some subtle common sense for those who haven’t missed a paycheck in the last two months or so while backing an indefinite, non-scientific lockdown for everyday American workers.
“When a disc jockey or a talk show host or a journalist who is being paid to work from his or her home tells people who can’t work, pay bills or pay their rent or mortgage to ‘Stay home and be careful because we’re all in this together,’ it’s okay to question the premise.”

Late last month, he expressed similar nuanced and satirical sentiments about out-of-touch movie stars and others in the entertainment industry who have filled social media platforms with self-serving, cloying, and embarrassing videos about how “everyone” is making shared sacrifices under stay-at-home orders.
“I hope you understand how difficult this situation is for celebrities. Instead of being pampered and flattered by everyone, we are forced to sit in our homes just like regular people. Please don’t forget about us. Any kind words of support would be appreciated. #AdoptACelebrity.”

For filthy rich celebrities in particular, it is bit much for them to express such solidarity with the common folk when they live in huge mansions (with stocked refrigerators) surrounded by security walls, and have servants, handlers, and PR flacks waiting on them hand and foot.
As an aside, given that the liberal media, and especially liberal Hollywood (despite rampant gunplay portrayed in the movies), is fully on board with strict gun control measures, it may be worth mentioning that A-Listers often travel with armed bodyguards.
Game show host Pat Sajak is one of the few, out-of-the closet conservatives in the entertainment arena.
Twitter users Twitter users weighed in and generally reacted positively to Sajak’s tweet:
The 1968-70 Hong Kong Flu killed 100,000 Americans, and over 1M people worldwide.
We still had all Super Bowls
We still sent someone to the moon
We still had Woodstock
We still sent troops to Vietnam
We still didn’t shut down a thingWe kept going. Now I can’t get a haircut.

I’ll go one further. It’s okay to tell them that unless they give up their pay…WE ARE NOT in this together. We are on the same ocean…much different boats and storms.

Even people WITH the luxury of having kept their job should ALSO be screaming, because they’re now being told what to do by governors who are holding our freedoms hostage until there’s a CURE. A CURE?!
It is no longer about health or safety. Hasn’t been for awhile.

Yeah, I’ve noticed everyone who wants us locked down is either independently wealthy, or is still getting a paycheck.

Thank you! It’s so easy for somebody getting a paycheck to tell me what to do. After building my business from scratch into a thriving business employing 11 people, at almost 64 I’m on the verge of bankruptcy.

Quit paying local/state/federal employees and the nation opens up overnight. Period, end of story…
— Gary Leavitt (@CardRoadshow) May 16, 2020
Earlier this month, about 200 celebs — none of whom needed to wait by their electronic or physical mailbox for their stimulus check to make ends meet — issued an open letter to the world in the context of both the coronaavirus and climate change calling for a “profound overhaul of our goals, values, and economies,” with consumerism and productivity as the systemic main culprits.
