Failed 2016 Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, whom some say lost the 2016 race in part because of the disdain she’d aimed at so-called “deplorables,” has accused armed lockdown protesters in Michigan of perpetrating “domestic terrorism.”
And in doing so, she’s added credence to the emerging theory by notable voices such as Rolling Stone magazine’s Matt Taibbi that “Democrats have abandoned civil liberties.”
“Armed men storming a legislature to disrupt its democratic proceedings is domestic terrorism. It cannot be tolerated,” Clinton wrote in a ratioed tweet Friday afternoon.
She posted the tweet two weeks after armed lockdown protesters swarmed the state capitol to challenge Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s widely panned decision to extend the state’s economically devastating and draconian stay-at-home order.
The governor’s order is so tyrannical that even Fox News legal analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano has described it as “fascist” in nature. But Clinton clearly disagrees.

The tweet linked to a seemingly unrelated Newsweek article about how Michigan had closed its capitol building and canceled its legislative session on Thursday because of “online death threats” from several Facebook groups.
The article was posted hours after armed demonstrators gathered outside the shuttered-capitol to again protest Whitmer’s increasingly authoritarian “power grabs.”
Clinton’s tweet drew a chorus of dissenting voices, with a number of Americans flummoxed by her willingness to disparage fellow Americans for practicing their First Amendment right to assemble peacefully and Second Amendment right to bear arms.

In the latter tweet, California congressional candidate DeAnna Lorraine, a Republican, accused Clinton of not respecting the U.S. Constitution.
According to award-winning journalist Matt Taibbi of Rolling Stone magazine, this disdain for America’s founding principles seems to extend to all Democrats.
As evidence, he pointed not only to the Democrat Party’s response to coronavirus lockdown protests, but also the party’s response to the clear-cut abuses committed against former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.
“Democrats clearly believe constituents will forgive them for abandoning constitutional principles, so long as the targets of official inquiry are figures like Flynn or Paul Manafort or Trump himself,” he wrote.
“In the process, they’ve raised a generation of followers whose contempt for civil liberties is now genuine-to-permanent. Blue-staters have gone from dismissing constitutional concerns as Trumpian ruse to sneering at them, in the manner of French aristocrats, as evidence of proletarian mental defect.”
Clinton certainly does act like an aristocrat — a hypocritical one, to boot.
“Nowhere has this been more evident than in the response to the Covid-19 crisis, where the almost mandatory take of pundits is that any protest of lockdown measures is troglodyte death wish,” Taibbi continued.
“The aftereffects of years of Russiagate/Trump coverage are seen everywhere: press outlets reflexively associate complaints of government overreach with Trump, treason, and racism, and conversely radiate a creepily gleeful tone when describing aggressive emergency measures and the problems some ‘dumb’ Americans have had accepting them.”

And so it isn’t surprising that Clinton has joined other Democrats (and the media) in trying to stamp out peaceful protests against what even FNC’s Judge Andrew Napolitano has described as “fascist” policies.
And to be clear, despite threats from obscure individuals on the Internet, the protests in Michigan — and elsewhere across the country — have been wholly peaceful.
Ironically, the same may not be said of the pro-Clinton protesters who lashed out violently after she lost the presidential election four years ago …
