Asked Thursday on MSNBC about Tara Reade’s sexual assault accusation, presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden pulled out his unusual but frequently used ‘I don’t remember” and “go vote for someone else” cards.
First, he was asked by MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell about whether he even remembers Reade.
Listen (disable your adblocker if the video doesn’t appear):
“Well to be honest with you, I don’t,” Biden replied. “But look, let me make something clear. When a woman makes a claim that she has been harassed or abused, she should be taken seriously. She should come forward, share her history, she should be taken seriously, and it should be thoroughly vetted.”
“And in every case, what matters is the truth. Truth is what matters, and the truth of the case is that nothing like this ever, ever happened. … And I give you my word, it never, never happened.”
But how would he know whether it happened if he, a 77-year-old man who appears to suffer from serious memory problems, doesn’t even remember Reade?
When the host pressed Biden about a widely mocked column published in The New York Times earlier this month by a feminist who’d proclaimed, “I Believe Tara Reade. I’m Voting for Joe Biden Anyway,” he argued that feminist should vote for someone else.
“Well, I think they should vote their heart, and if they believe Tara Reade, they probably shouldn’t vote for me. I wouldn’t vote for me if I believed Tara Reade,” Biden said.
He then pivoted back to trashing Reade’s story.
“The fact is that, look at Tara Reade’s story,” he said. “It changes considerably. And, but I don’t want to question her motive, I don’t want to question anything, other than to say the truth matters. This has been vetted. It’s been vetted, they went and people interviewed scores of my employees over my whole career.”
“This is just totally thoroughly completely out of character and the idea that in a public place, in a hallway, I would assault a woman. I mean, I, anyway, I promise you, it never happened. It should be vetted. She should be thoroughly looked at and whether or not these happened. Look at the story, follow the storyline, and determine whether there’s any truth to it, and there is no truth to it, I promise you.”
To be clear, the story has NOT been vetted, as the media have made it clear they’d rather have Biden’s allies in the Democrat National Committee perform the vetting for them.
The New York Times Biden editorial is truly beyond parody. We called for FBI probe of Kavanaugh, Times says, so now we call for DNC probe of Biden. Democrats will be ‘unbiased, apolitical.’ And please, no media digging. This is too important for that. https://t.co/lfi077oi66 pic.twitter.com/EQHHeUkHzN

It was Biden’s remark about voting for someone else if they believe Reade that most piqued the public’s attention, with some calling it “pathetic” and “bad.” Though FYI, it wasn’t even his first time telling voters to go vote for someone else.
Oh dear that is a bad answer

This was a pathetic response. Trump would have dumped all over her. Joe is gonna lose debates if he can’t pull himself together. Remember Kavanaugh emphatically denying his allegations? And that dude is actually guilty, but he was sly enough to secure his seat with SCOTUS.

That is not the right answer

It’s as if Biden is consciously self-undermining because he doesn’t really want to run. Alas, for Democrats, he’s their last hope.

The political version of a self inflicted gunshot wound to head and body as only Biden can do.

He doesn’t even defend himself, and they expect us to elect him to defend our country? This is bad.

These were not the only unusual remarks made by the presumptive Democrat nominee during Thursday’s interview on MSNBC.
During one portion of the interview, the host played a pre-recorded clip of an MSNBC viewer asking Biden a question. Nothing odd about that, right? But strangely enough, as the pre-recorded clip began to air, the former VP started conversing with it.

During another portion of the interview, Biden tried to address President Donald Trump’s so-called “China card” but was unable to utter a single coherent thought.
Democrat Joe Biden on President Trump correctly blaming China for lying to the world about coronavirus:
“And so, I, I just don’t, and now he’s trying to play this China card, I mean, I don’t know wh-, I don’t know wh-, eh, eh this is an usual president” pic.twitter.com/tu9xsy6dhG
