Democratic strategist James Carville delivered an eyebrow-raising appeal for his party to behave like a “pirate ship” in their effort to take back the White House.

The Democratic operative declared on MSNBC Wednesday that President Donald Trump will not win a second term and called for ending the “scourge of Trumpism” in the country by becoming more aggressive in campaigning against him.

Carville delivered his rant, insulting half of the country who voted for Trump, after a smug and dishonest introduction by MSNBC host Brian Williams, who accused the president of a “daily diversion” of blaming the coronavirus pandemic on China, despite the indisputable fact that it originated there.

“I want to ask about your side and the notion of punching back. Should the Biden campaign be holding a daily or thrice-weekly call it a resistance briefing, call it a medical briefing?” Williams asked.

Democrats could learn a thing or two from “Never-Trumper Republicans,” Carville told Williams, praising the  “neocons” and the anti-Trump Lincoln Group for its ad “Mourning in America” which criticized the president’s handling of the pandemic.

“Let me tell you, the Lincoln group and the Bulwark, these Never Trumper Republicans, the Democrats could learn a lot from them. They’re mean. They fight hard. And we don’t fight like that. They don’t fight like that,” Carville said.

“The way that you run a presidential campaign is you’re a pirate ship. You’re always calculating. You’re always taking wind speed and direction. You seize and you loot and you burn. And that’s just the way it is,” he added.

“They’re just riding low in the water. They’re all rich. They’re all scamming. They’re all making money. And my advice is get ready. Hit them, hit them, and then hit them again,” Carville went on, saying the economy wouldn’t matter in Trump’s reelection bid.

“It don’t matter if the Dow is 35,000, he’s not going to win,” he said.

“He wasn’t going to win when unemployment was 3.5 percent. He’s certainly not going to win now. But the idea is not just to beat him. It is to end the scourge of Trumpism in this country forever,” Carville declared. “And we can do that. It’s within our grasp right now. Right now. They’re just fleecing this thing. All they’re trying is to make money right now. They know what’s going on. Everybody knows what’s happening in this country.”

He urged Democrats to “get off the conference calls, get out of the meetings and go in and take it to them.”

Carville also targeted members of the Trump campaign, calling them “grifters” who are “just fleecing the campaign.”

“It’s just about making money and they’re going in, they’re giving him fake polls,” he said. “This whole thing is just like a crumbling empire right before your eyes. Everybody is trying to take everything they can get on the way out and they’re trying to prop him up so they all can make money. ”

Naturally, Carville’s words inspired liberals and sparked a demand for Democrats to get moving.

But Carville’s insulting accusations and putting a target on Trump supporters was met with scathing backlash on Twitter where even those on the left were not buying what he was selling.
