Fox Business Network host Maria Bartiromo needled Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Sunday over his continued refusal to hold hearings into a variety of issues he has often promised to investigate in the past.

Bartiromo’s comments come following revelations last week that the FBI very likely set up Michael Flynn, who briefly served as President Donald Trump’s first national security adviser before he was forced to resign for allegedly misleading Vice President Mike Pence about a conversation he had during the transition with a Russian diplomat.

“I’ve got to tell you though, I mean, we’ve been talking about this now for three years and when I first came on the scene and said, ‘Look, this is a coup to take down Donald Trump, I got slammed,’” she told Graham.

“Everybody out there was just going on this, you know, ‘Russia collusion witch hunt,’ which was ridiculous, and you told me repeatedly off the last couple years as I continued to bring this evidence forth, in February 2019 you said, ‘I’m going to subpoena Rosenstein, Yates, Strzok, Comey,’” Bartiromo continued, in reference to a number of people believed to be tied to the “Spygate” scandal.

She continued:

In July 2019 you vowed to do a “deep dive.” In August 2019, you said, “We’ll make sure this never happens again.” September 22, 2019 you came on this show and said, “We’re ready to start calling people.” October 2019 you said, “I’m going to call Horowitz and subpoena. And November 2019, I’m going to call Horowitz after the report.” And you are the only one with subpoena power, we need you to call these individuals down to testify as witnesses. People want you to move on this, senator, are you going to do it?

At that, Graham demurred.

Yeah, but I’ve told you and I’ll tell you again. I’m not going to interfere in an ongoing criminal matter. This is a rule of law nation,” the South Carolina Republican said.

“I’m a politician. My goal is to write a report on how it got off the rails, but I can promise you we’re going to do it right. I’m not jumping in the middle of this case but when it’s over we’re going to find out why the Mueller investigation lasted two years,” Graham continued.

“We’re going to find out what kind of FBI shop was run out of the seventh floor and find out how you could issue warrants against Carter Page when the Russian sub-source told the FBI in January of 2017 it’s all a bunch of garbage. Durham is a prosecutor, I’m an oversight guy, but I’m not going to interfere in an ongoing criminal matter, period,” he said, in reference to an ongoing criminal probe into the origins of Spygate being conducted by the U.S. attorney from Connecticut, John Durham.

Some have expressed the opinion that Graham’s all talk and no action on the Spygate probe because at some point it involved his long time friend, the late Sen. John McCain.

As Conservative Treehouse noted regarding the interview:

This “I’m not going to interfere in an ongoing criminal matter” is the exact same excuse Graham used previously in: (1) the Mueller investigation; (2) the Horowitz investigation; (3) the IG review of the FBI FISA abuse; (4) the IG review of Andrew McCabe; (4) the IG review of Comey’s memos; and now the Durham investigation into the origins of Obama’s political targeting and Flynn.

Recall that McCain passed along the bogus Steele dossier to the FBI, which was then run by James Comey — who, we know by his own admission sent Peter Strzok and another agent over to the White House to entrap Mike Flynn.

Graham has been promising Fox News hosts for years he’ll ‘get to the bottom’ of all of this. He’s never delivered.
