Hannity rips FBI brass for ‘corrupt ambush’ of Gen Flynn, says newly released docs evidence that proves it

Responding to the latest bombshell in smeared, besmirched and slandered Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn’s long-winded legal case, Fox News host Sean Hannity confidently declared Wednesday that the FBI interview that led to the bureau’s case against the general was itself “an illegal abuse of power, corrupt ambush.”

Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn … was unfairly and justly targeted by deep state bureaucrats that clearly, with all the evidence now to prove it, wanted to take him down,” he said.

As evidence, the longtime FNC host pointed to the latest bombshell in the case — “newly unsealed documents that prove that corrupt agents from Jim Comey’s FBI were discussing strategies on how to set Gen. Flynn up on what we call a perjury trap.”

“And according to one handwritten note, an unnamed agent asked, ‘Well, what is our goal here? Is it truth, admission or to get him to lie?'” Hannity continued. “To get him to lie — is that our goal? ‘So we can prosecute him or get him fired.’ Is that the FBI’s goal?”

Apparently, it was.

Unsealed Wednesday by a federal judge, these documents “consist of two redacted email exchanges as well as one page of handwritten notes by an unidentified official that appeared to involve [the FBI’s] preparations for Mr. Flynn’s interview,” The Wall Street Journal reported.

“In the handwritten notes, which are dated Jan. 24, 2017—the day of the Flynn interview—the author writes: ‘What is our goal? Truth/Admission or to get him to lie, so we can prosecute him or get him fired?'”

As for the email exchanges, they involved disgraced former FBI special agent Peter Strzok and disgraced former FBI attorney Lisa Page.

“Page sought guidance from another official within the bureau, copying in agent Pete Strzok on an email about when and how the bureau was required to warn Mr. Flynn that lying to agents was a crime,” the Journal confirmed.

In other words, Page and Strzok “discussed how to casually slip in an admonition about lying under oath in order to set a stronger perjury trap,” Hannity continued Wednesday.

These agents were preparing for an interview that ultimately did take place on January 24th, 2017, day four of the Trump Administration. Truth to be told, it was an ambush. It was an illegal abuse of power, corrupt ambush.”

This fierce accusation is backed by other uncovered evidence, including proof that then-Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe encouraged Flynn to sit for the interview without the presence of his lawyer on the false basis (i.e., McCabe lied) that the interview wouldn’t be on the record — that it’d just be a casual conversation.

Moreover, two years ago disgraced former FBI Director James Comey admitted on television that he’d flagrantly bypassed long-established FBI rules by purposefully sending his subordinates to the White House to interview Flynn.

“Remember, he sent the agents to grill Flynn just four days in the administration,” Hannity explained. “He wanted to exploit the chaos inside the transitioning White House, something he would never do in the Bush or Obama administration.”

“Ultimately, that perjury trap was not a success. Agents saw no indication at all that the national security adviser was lying. They didn’t believe he was lying. They said they didn’t believe he was lying. Comey’s FBI turned the screws anyway.”

Fact-check: TRUE.

“They threatened to lock Flynn up for years,” Hannity added. “He eventually went bankrupt. He had to sell his home. They threatened to prosecute his son. They ultimately forced him to plead guilty, making him a felon for the rest of his life, or they were going to prosecute his son.”

“They didn’t think he lied, but then they forced him to lie, coerced him into making statements. Why? To protect his son.”

Also true.

“Flynn is said to have been warned that, if he refused to plead guilty, prosecutors would charge his son with a felony for failing to register with the Justice Department as a foreign agent,” National Review notes.

“Such a so-called FARA violation (Foreign Agent Registration Act) is a crime that the DOJ almost never charged before the Mueller investigation, and it had dubious application to Flynn’s son (who worked for Flynn’s private-intelligence firm).”

Flynn Attorney, Sidney Powell, has petitioned for his case to be dropped based on all this new and old evidence.

Flynn’s supporters meanwhile are encouraging Flynn to sue his prosecutors if and when the charges are indeed dropped.
