Democrats reached a new low in their hatred of President Donald Trump and the mission to destroy anyone who doesn’t agree with them.
Instead of Michigan State Rep. Karen Whitsett getting celebratory messages after recovering from COVID-19, the Democrat is facing censure by her own party members in Detroit. Whitsett is guilty of crediting Trump with saving her life after taking hydroxychloroquine to treat her severe coronavirus symptoms.
Democrats apparently couldn’t handle the fact that the first-term lawmaker spoke well of the president and then actually met with him and Vice President Mike Pence last week at the White House where she offered her thanks and praise again for touting the medication that effectively cured her of the illness.
The 13th Congressional District Democratic Party Organization is now planning a vote on Saturday to censure the state lawmaker who represents the 9th Michigan House District. In stunning remarks, the chairman of the organization, Jonathan Kinloch, declared that Whitsett’s actions essentially broke some sort of political party protocol and that she is basically Democrat property.
“At the end of the day, we have political systems,” Kinloch said, according to The Detroit News.
“We have political parties, and political parties exist for a reason, he said, adding that endorsed candidates and elected officials “do not belong to themselves.”
“They belong to the members and precinct delegates of the Democratic Party,” Kinloch asserted.
Democratic political consultant Greg Bowens contended that Whitsett’s praise of Trump, which was her own statement of facts, could be “undermining the party’s ability to win Michigan.”
“She is in her own way trying to champion the inequities in our system,” Bowens, a member of the executive board for the 14th Congressional District, claimed. “But everybody knows Trump’s a user. If you give him any praise, he’s going to use it in his campaign to win the state.”
Whitsett tweeted at the president Thursday with news of the planned action.

Trump reacted in a late-night tweet responding to Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel who called the planned action against Whitsett “appalling.” The president invited her to join the Republican Party.

Democrats will be voting on the resolution claiming the lawmaker has “misrepresented the needs and priorities” of Democratic leadership and “has repeatedly and publicly praised the president’s delayed and misguided COVID-19 response efforts in contradiction with the scientifically based and action-oriented response” from Democrats in Michigan.
They continued the pile on, accusing Whitsett of “endangering the health, safety and welfare of her constituents, the city of Detroit and the state of Michigan.” If the resolution passes and she is censured, the freshman lawmaker will not only lose the organization’s endorsement for this year but will be banned from participating in any of its activities for the next two election cycles.
“What a joke,” the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., tweeted Thursday. “Remember folks, the narrative can only be against Trump and if you break those rules the left will turn on their own.”
The party did just that during this week as Georgia state Rep. Vernon Jones became the target for liberal and Democratic hatred after he dared to cross party lines and announce his endorsement of Trump. Jones announced Wednesday that he has “left the plantation” and would not be completing his term after the way he was treated.
Whitsett, meanwhile, plans to continue doing her job representing the people who voted for her.
“I will continue to fight for the city of Detroit and the people in Detroit who need it the most, and that is the black community,” she said, according to The Detroit News. “We’re the voiceless, and I don’t care who I got to go up against to do that.
“I’m a Democrat, and I plan on continuing to be a Democrat, but they will change their ways,” she added. “I have my First Amendment right, and no one will take that away from me.”
