Joy Behar calls armed Americans protesting against stay-at-home orders ‘domestic terrorists’

“The View” co-host Joy Behar has let it be known that if you’re exercising two of our most essential constitutional rights at the same time, you’re a “domestic terrorist” who, ostensibly, should be jailed. Or something.

During her Monday program, Behar claimed that Americans who show up armed to protest ‘stay-at-home’ orders imposed as part of ongoing coronavirus-related shutdowns are “being egged on” by right-wing media types Rush Limbaugh and Alex Jones and, thus, are ‘threats’ to our way of life.

“These people are being egged on by right-wing media people like Alex Jones and Rush Limbaugh. Why are you bringing guns to a rally?” she said.

Um, because we’re allowed to?

“You want to call yourself protesters, leave your guns at home. Those are terrorists who bring guns to things — to rallies. I don’t trust that at all. And don’t listen to these people,” Behar continued.

There you have it: Americans exercising their First and Second Amendment rights simultaneously is something Joy Behar doesn’t ‘trust,’ so it’s wrong and can’t be allowed. Is she kidding?

No, she’s not. And that’s the sad part.

Behar then pretended to care about the common folk who have lost jobs thanks to the coronavirus-related shuttering of “non-essential” businesses while jumping on the ‘anti-Sweden’ bandwagon because that country dared — dared! — to buck the trend of COVID panic and continue operating as normally as possible:

…[B]ut they have to understand that they can infect other people, and, you know — you know, to paraphrase Patrick Henry, give me liberty and give me death is what they’re basically proposing, because a lot of people are going to die because of this behavior, you know? And it’s already been shown that self-quarantining or whatever you want to call it, besides distancing and PPEs, has been working. It works.

I was looking up Sweden, my favorite — one of my favorite countries. Well, they really screwed up. They have had this — this policy where everyone can go out and do what they have to do and use your own judgment. Don’t gather in groups of more than 50 people, which is a lot of people, by the way. They have closed the schools, yes, they have, but people are in restaurants.

Now they have 17 times the rate of their fellow Scandinavian countries. Norway, Finland, et cetera. So it has not worked. It doesn’t work. Stay at home.

Naturally, co-host Sunny Hostin jumped in and sided with Behar — against the guns, and against President Trump for suggesting some of the protests are legitimate.

“And to Joy’s point, you know, you saw protesters with guns, and I think, you know, he’s in a sense, implying an incited insurrection. I think the argument can be made that he is inciting violence by these tweets. He’s inciting government insurrection, and many people are saying, well, it’s his free speech,” she said.

“But the Supreme Court has found many times that if you are inciting lawlessness that’s leading to violence, that that type of speech isn’t protected. And so I’m just shocked that we have the president of the United States, again, inciting this kind of behavior, inciting these protests,” she claimed.

There you have it: Behar is an expert in immunology and Hostin is a legal expert.

Watch:

But — have these ladies ever criticized Antifa demonstrators, who literally show up to incite violence in ‘protest’ imaginary white supremacy? No, they haven’t. And they’re not going to.

Because they’re hypocrites.

The Bill of Rights isn’t a list of quaint suggestions, it is a recognition of inalienable rights that our founders believed all humans should have. And while they didn’t get it quite right in the beginning, we’ve long since rectified those shortcomings.

That said, the bottom line is this: Our rights did not come with a disclaimer that they cannot be honored ‘during times of emergency’ or a user limit of ‘one right at a time.’

It’s an abomination that Behar would suggest criminalizing the exercise of individuals’ constitutional rights simply because she disagrees with their politics.
