Once again, CNN has allowed its hosts to provide lip service for the Trump-bashing left.  Although this time, it may have backfired. Not only that, it may have jeopardized lives.

As seen on several days over the past few weeks, CNN has chosen to cut away from live White House briefings which take place each day.  These briefings showcase what the Trump administration is doing in response to requests from states for equipment, as well as the status of health care personnel including military personnel. It is also an important update from the health experts addressing COVID-19, most notably Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx. 

During Tuesday’s briefing, it was immediately clear that Dr. Birx was issuing a nationwide request to all lab directors in this country to ramp up the operation of their Abbott M2000 testing machines. Check out from minute 2:10 for Dr. Birx’s call to all lab directors nationwide.  

These machines are currently being massively underutilized – according to Dr. Birx to the tune of 80 percent!  If all lab directors were able to hear and heed Dr. Birx’s request, the amount of testing currently being done in this country would increase by over 100,000 tests per day per machine. 

The Abbott M2000 machine is scaled to perform the tests of the new molecular five-minute test developed by Abbott Laboratories to detect COVID-19 cases. These five-minute tests are currently undergoing mass distribution.  However, the machines required to evaluate these tests are not being utilized to their full capacity according to Dr. Birx. If all these M2000 machines were being deployed, this could amount to potentially millions of additional tests being performed per day. Dr. Birx mentioned there would be a national call going out to all lab directors throughout the country over the next two days, imploring them to ramp up operation of their Abbott M2000 machines.

While CNN pundits continue to complain about virus testing in this country, they choose to ignore the fact that CNN cut away from the White House briefing on Tuesday immediately after the President handed the reins over to Vice President Pence to continue the briefing. It was during that part of the briefing that Dr. Birx made an urgent call and implored all lab directors in this country to listen to her call to action. Instead, Wolf Blitzer of CNN chose to interview the usual assortment of Never Trumpers to find whatever fault they possibly could of the President’s remarks. It was shameful.

Imagine the time that could have been saved if the liberal media, in particular CNN, highlighted this urgent request.  At one of the most crucial points of how this country is coping with the COVID-19 virus, the liberal media has chosen politics over possibly life-saving news that should be spread throughout our nation, from coast to coast, immediately. Our healthcare professionals, the medical experts, as well as our scientific community, deserve better than this. Abbott has stepped up to the plate and expect to be able to deliver 5 million five-minute tests per month in a very short timeframe. It is critical for the labs in this country to be up and running their Abbott M2000 testing machines in this same timeframe. After all, this is a LOT of tests.

Who will try to explain this to the Never Trumper media?
