‘Absolutely not!’ Graham appears on ‘Hannity’ one hour after Tucker accuses him of secret Chinese dealings

While America as a whole is at war with the global coronavirus pandemic, it appears Fox News host Tucker Carlson is at war with Senate Judiciary Committee chair Lindsey Graham.

In a stunning segment Thursday evening, the celebrated FNC host accused the South Carolina senator of trying to expand a visa program during a time when the United States ought to be tightening borders restrictions, not loosening them.

At this very moment, Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina is pressuring the White House to respond to this epidemic by passing out residency documents to rich Chinese, nearly all of whom, by definition, have ties to our enemies in the Chinese government,” he said.

The accusations were based on a report from Politico, which currently faces a lawsuit from a White House official for its allegedly “lying, deceitful and unethical” conduct.

In a report published Wednesday, the outlet claimed that a current coronavirus-linked proposal to “significantly boost the number of visas offered annually from 10,000 to 75,000 while halving the investment required to earn legal residence from $900,000 to $450,000” is being “pushed” by Graham.

“Half the recipients of the EB-5 visa program — investors and their families — come from China, according to a report by the Brookings Institution think tank. Many others come from South Korea and Taiwan,” Politico noted.

Based on this report, Carlson further speculated that perhaps Graham is being paid off to sell out the American people.

“Why is he pushing it at the very moment that the threat we face from China has never been clearer or more imminent?” he said. “Presumably, he’s getting paid by donors to do it. We don’t know. Just a guess, but that’s usually how it works in Washington.”

“But it only works if nobody notices it’s happening, if it’s done in secret. Let’s hope a lot of people notice now. Selling American citizenship to Chinese oligarchs isn’t the way to preserve America’s economy and protect our most vulnerable.”

Speaking with Fox News host Sean Hannity about an hour after Carlson repeated Politico’s allegations, Graham disputed all of them.

“Absolutely not,” he said when asked whether the allegations are legitimate. “I haven’t talked to anybody on the planet, much less the Trump administration, about putting EB-5 on the coronavirus bill. This is not the time or the place.”

But he then added that he supports the program nevertheless, saying, “The president supports the program. I do too.”

Hmm …

“We’re not going to put a damn thing on this bill that doesn’t protect you and your family from the virus and does not give you money,” he continued.

This prompted Hannity to ask, “Let me be clear. So Politico magazine’s report is an outright falsehood?”

“I don’t think it’s Politico. I think it’s another … it’s absolute garbage,” Graham initially replied. “I haven’t talked to anybody. I would object to putting anything on these bills that are not  related to solving the problem.”

By “another,” he may have meant Carlson. He may be under the false impression that the allegations originated with the FNC host. That would be incorrect, of course.

The allegations from Politico came the same day that word broke that Senate Judiciary Committee ranking member Dianne Feinstein, a Democrat, and three of her Senate colleagues, including Republican Sen. Richard Burr, had “sold off stocks worth millions of dollars in the days before the coronavirus outbreak crashed the market.”

As of Friday morning, all of the left-wing establishment media’s attention was on Burr, a Republican, with barely any outlets focusing on Feinstein, a Democrat.

Because of the media’s incessant attempts to always attack Republicans and protect Democrats, it’s often difficult to take any of their allegations seriously.

Nevertheless, a startling number of conservatives appear to have accepted Politico’s allegations as fact. It doesn’t help that Graham has admitted to supporting EB-5.
