Trump admin set to begin immediately turning away all undocumented immigrants, asylum seekers due to virus

One easily missed silver lining in the otherwise catastrophic coronavirus crisis is that it’s allowed the Trump administration to once and for all justifiably slam the hammer on migrants, illegal aliens and alleged asylum seekers.

The Trump administration plans to immediately turn back all asylum seekers and other foreigners trying to cross the southwestern border illegally, saying they cannot risk allowing the coronavirus to spread through detention facilities and among Border Patrol agents,” The New York Times confirmed Tuesday via four anonymous administration officials.

Set to be announced by Thursday at the latest, this new policy will reportedly permit U.S. Border Patrol agents to reject all illegal aliens, migrants and alleged asylum seekers who enter the U.S. illegally for the greater good of the American people and their health.

“Border Patrol agents would immediately return to Mexico anyone who tries to cross the southern border between the legal ports of entry,” the Times noted.

“Under the policy, asylum seekers would not be held for any length of time in an American facility nor would they be given due process. Once caught, they would be driven to the nearest port of entry and returned to Mexico without further detention.”

While previous attempts to stop the flow of illegals into the United States have been met with fierce reproach, the left has ZERO ROOM to talk in this instance.

Of course, that hasn’t actually stopped the left from trying:

Why do they have no room to talk? Because it’s been mainly left-wing governors and local leaders who’ve been hellbent on restricting the rights of their own law-abiding citizens for the greater good, lest the coronavirus spread unrestrained and the zombie apocalypse unfolds.

In Philadelphia, a Democrat-led city, all “non-essential businesses” have been closed, thus leaving an untold number of locals without a source of income.

Over in New York City, meanwhile, Democrat Mayor Bill de Blasio has closed all nightclubs, movie theaters and concert venues — and likewise restricted restaurants, bars and cafes to food takeout and delivery.

And in Great Falls, Montana, a city led by a veritable Democrat mayor who earlier this year petitioned President Donald Trump to allow more refugees into the U.S., public transportation has been shut down, thus leaving low-income residents with no reliable means of getting around town.

All these draconian, authoritarian actions have been justified on the basis that they’re for the greater good.

Well, the principle runs both ways …

Of course, in the case of these border restrictions, they would actually kill multiple birds with one stone, since blocking illegals from entering the states wouldn’t just lower the risk of the coronavirus spreading, it’d also lower the risk of Americans being victimized.

It’ll also reduce the burden on U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which has faced systematic stress for years over the requirement that all asylum seekers and migrants — the vast majority of whose claims have been shown to be fraudulent — be held and taken care of until their mostly false claims are resolved.

All in all, the benefits of shutting down the border during the coronavirus outbreak seem to far outweigh any concerns about racism and xenophobia, especially when you factor in Mexico’s anemic response to the crisis.

“International observers and opposition leaders are warning that Mexico’s government is failing to take the coronavirus crisis seriously, risking a major eruption just as the rest of the world takes drastic steps to recover,” The Hill noted Wednesday.

To demand that the border remains open in this time of crisis is to sacrifice the American people’s well-being for the sake of misguided left-wing ideals. And to issue these demands while at the same time calling for the American people themselves to be locked up at home without reliable sources of income is to be a hypocrite of epic proportions.
