Queen Bee AOC rips coronavirus relief bill because she knows how to spend the money better

Freshman Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, a woman so radical that she’s been refusing to campaign for socialist Democrat presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders anymore on account of him reportedly not being radical enough for her, is unsatisfied with the bipartisan emergency coronavirus bill that was passed by the House on Friday.

While the freshman turned “Queen Bee” congresswoman joined 222 of her Democrat colleagues and 140 of her Republican colleagues in voting early Saturday morning in favor of the measure, she later held a Facebook “town hall” in which she claimed the bill was “completely insufficient.”

“What was done yesterday was a baby step, but it is not sufficient, so we have to make sure that we are pushing for more. … It is a step forward, but it is completely insufficient,” she said during the 100-minute-long “town hall.”

The whole “town hall” can be heard below, if you’re interested …

The bipartisan bill instituted free coronavirus tests, three months of paid family/medical leave, mandatory two-week paid leaves for those diagnosed with coronavirus and guaranteed unemployment insurance for those affected by coronavirus.

So what exactly is it that AOC seeks? Based on her demands, it seems she wants to use the coronavirus crisis to transform America into Venezuela by instituting radical social policies that would completely undermine America’s free-market economy.

“One is that we have called for a moratorium on evictions,” she said as she listed out her demands.

She continued, “[O]ne of the things that we’re trying to secure in the House is paid leave. We made a baby step toward that in the form of a tax credit last night, but I’m hoping that we push for a massive expansion on paid leave for every single worker in this country, including independent contractors and freelancers.”

By a “massive expansion,” she meant a permanent expansion that would inexorably alter America’s entitlement programs.

“Everyone is for testing. Everyone is for medical infrastructure like ventilators. Where Republicans have challenges is where we have legislative provisions that forever change entitlement programs,” Rep. Matt Gaetz noted last Friday to Fox News’ Martha MacCallum.

“We want solutions that are medical infrastructure-focused, testing-focus, but that don’t rewrite entitlements while we are dealing with the coronavirus.”

He’d been explaining why he opposed the bill that was later passed a day later.

Continuing her “town hall,” Ocasio-Cortez then called for “cash infusions.”

“We need to get cash infusions and cash transfers into working people’s hands,” she said. “So we need to make sure that we are calling on every single member of Congress to support universal basic income or a cash transaction, because this seizing up of our economy is affecting everybody, and it’s simply not sustainable.”

Nor is just handing out money to the American people. Money doesn’t grow on trees.

“Huge, enormous and growing sectors of our economy are exactly in your boat,” she added. “They are gig workers, contractors, tipped hourly workers, etc., and we have to make sure that we’re securing the cushion behind people.”

“And I also believe we need to extend healthcare to the uninsured and extend Medicare and Medicaid programs for every single person, on top of opening ACA enrollment. So I think all of those things are critically important.”

It appears her solution to the coronavirus crisis is to implement Sanders’ radical plan for America. Of course, it turns out even he isn’t radical enough for her.

“Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) turned down repeated requests from Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign to appear at events promoting the Vermont senator’s candidacy in recent weeks, according to three people familiar with the discussions,” HuffPost reported Friday.

According to one of the outlet’s sources, her newfound apathy toward Sanders may stem in part from a disagreement she had with his campaign two months ago.

“At a rally in Ames on Jan. 25, Ocasio-Cortez delivered a speech in which she failed to mention Sanders’ name ― an omission that Fox News noticed and highlighted,” the outlet noted. “She also encouraged those in attendance to tip off people about the presence of immigration enforcement authorities in their communities to help undocumented immigrants evade detention.”

“As Vanity Fair first reported in February, [Sanders campaign manager Faiz] Shakir apparently communicated to Ocasio-Cortez his dissatisfaction over her remarks about alerting the presence of immigration authorities. While Sanders has sought to scrap and restructure the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency in its current form, his campaign has been trying to avoid the impression that it was encouraging noncooperation with federal law as it exists.”

And as a radical, AOC’s all about “noncooperation with federal law as it exists.”

In her town hall Saturday, the congresswoman said she’d also like the Trump administration to reimburse the college students who’ve been ordered home because of the coronavirus.

“Who can afford a plane ticket on such short notice?” she said. “We need to make sure that low-income students can get reimbursed for that enormous disruption and economic setback.”
