Baby got back … into the spotlight!
On Wednesday, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin suddenly reappeared back in the spotlight via an unexpected appearance on “The Masked Singer,” a reality TV show where anonymous celebrities hidden beneath costumes compete with one another.

It turns out that through season three of the show, it was Palin who’d been hidden underneath a purple/pink bear costume.
That was the good news. The bad news was that her unveiling marked her elimination from the show.
That said, what shocked everybody in the studio — not to mention the country, no doubt — wasn’t Palin herself in so much as it was her stunning, inexplicable rapping.
Prior to her unveiling, she’d earned accolades for an anonymous performance of legendary rapper Sir Mix-a-Lot’s 1992 hit song, “Baby Got Back.”

When it comes to rapping, Palin is one bad mama jama.

She also participated in a brief interview in which she trashed the media.
“It’s amazing how the media can brand you,” she said. “They can introduce you as a caricature that you’re not.”
“And once they start ringing bells, you can’t really unring the bells, unless you have an opportunity like this to get out there and show a different, more sincere side of you than perhaps what that label is that’s been stamped on your forehead. So it’s been a really good opportunity for me to get to kind of show another real side of Governor Sarah Palin.”

The media have spent years trashing Palin, and naturally, a large contingent of left-leaning Americans have accepted their smears hook, line and sinker.
In response to the former governor’s appearance on “The Masked Singer,” for instance, some of them accused her of being a desperate grifter.

Yet never are such complaints heard about former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, whose time in the spotlight (particularly late night television) never ends thanks to her seemingly narcissistic craving for endless attention.
Why no complaints? Likely because the media haven’t spent years demonizing Clinton the way they’ve relentlessly demonized and tarnished Palin.
The smearing wound up crossing the line when The New York Times ran a scurrilous piece in 2017 falsely linking the former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee to the 2011 Tucson shooting.
In response, Palin fired back by suing the paper.

Shortly after the suit’s filing, a judge appointed by former President Bill Clinton, a Democrat, dismissed it, despite admitting that the Times’ piece had “included a few factual inaccuracies.”
Two years later, the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals reinstated the suit.
“In a 3-0 decision on Tuesday, the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan said the judge who dismissed Palin’s case ran afoul of federal rules designed to ensure fairness by first hearing testimony from Times editorial page editor James Bennet, and accepting it as credible,” Reuters reported last August.
“Circuit Judge John Walker also said Palin had plausibly alleged that the Times defamed her, though she still bore the “high” burden of showing on the merits that the newspaper acted with “actual malice” toward her.”
As of March 2020, the case still remained in litigation.
It should be noted, the former govenor also received plenty of accolades for her performance:
