Conservative commentator Dan Bongino accused former National Security Council aide Fiona Hill of making “patently false” statements.
The radio show host and former Secret Service agent blasted Hill for continuing to “embarrass herself” after her interview on CBS’ “60 Minutes” in which she dismissed reports of Ukrainian meddling in the 2016 election.

“I can’t for the life of me understand why a respected person like Fiona Hill continues to embarrass herself on the national stage and says things that are absurd and patently false,” Bongino said on “Fox & Friends” Monday.
“Let’s get this crystal clear and straight,” the Fox News contributor continued, arguing that Ukrainian interference in the 2016 election “is a distinct and separate event from the known period, Russian interference in the 2016 election.”
Hill, who was a witness in the Democratic-led House impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump last year, called out the reports as a “fictional narrative” during her interview Sunday.

“This whole issue of blaming Ukraine for meddling in the 2016 election that you spoke out against during the hearings. I mean, that really, isn’t it, that really is spreading Russian disinformation, right?” CBS’ Lesley Stahl asked during the “60 Minutes” interview.
“This is very much a fictional narrative that has been propagated by the Russian intelligence services,” Hill replied in her first interview since the impeachment inquiry.
“And a lot of those Republicans were promoting it and did they not know that it’s Russian disinformation?” Stahl asked.
“Members of Congress have been briefed repeatedly on issues like this,” Hill said in response.
“What about the Democrats? Have they also propagated any Russian disinformation?” Stahl pressed.
“Yes, they have. I mean, in the sense of talking about the president as being illegitimate,” Hill said.
Bongino slammed Hill for her “outrageously stupid” take on the reported meddling by Ukraine.
“They are not the same thing, but calling Ukrainian interference in the 2016 election fictional is outrageously stupid,” he said. “Don’t take my word for it. Look it up yourself, use the internet.”
“We already have people…on the record saying that former Democrat party officials approached them, trying to get information about the Trump team. Again, did she miss this? I don’t know why she keeps humiliating herself and saying this. It’s bizarre,” Bongino said.
Fox News co-host Brian Kilmeade pointed out to Bongino that, during the “60 Minutes” interview Hill “does not insult the president,” contending that she was being “pro-American” by trying to “see the big picture.”
Bongino was not fully on board with the assessment, noting that there were “portions of it where she says, ‘well, Donald Trump does a decent job. He asks probing questions. He has a different managerial style.’”
“I get that, but the problem with that is I’m not willing to give anybody a pass anymore,” he asserted.
“That piece she’s putting out there that Ukrainian interference is fiction is extremely damaging and she’s a respected person on both sides,” Bongino added. “She has an obligation to speak the truth and she doesn’t get a pass because she said a few nice and flowery words about the president.”
