Trump owns presser and leaves journos hanging after blunt and brutal take on Elizabeth Warren

Trump earned kudos from conservatives for his honest and triggering take on Warren.

President Donald Trump is known for a lot of things, but being coy is not one of them.

While speaking to the press at the White House on Friday morning, Trump briefly touched on the topic of Elizabeth Warren’s shocking exit from the 2020 Democratic presidential race and dismissed the notion that her failure to clinch the nomination had anything to do with her gender.

“I think lack of talent was her problem. She had a tremendous lack of talent,” the president explained. “She was a good debater, she destroyed Mike Bloomberg very quickly like it was nothing, it was easy for her. But people don’t like her. She’s a very mean person. And people don’t like her. People don’t want that. They like a person like me, that’s not mean.”

Watch:

And in case you’re wondering whether Trump is still king of trolling the media, immediately following his response he stopped taking questions and simply walked out despite the flurry of activity around him.

Warren’s campaign suspension announcement immediately prompted outrage from identity-obsessed liberals who believe that the only reason she dropped out was, in fact, sexism.

And in her own words:

But while Twitter attacked Trump for calling Warren “mean,” claiming he was perpetuating a “sexist trope,” Warren herself seemed to provide the ammo for his claim.

While sitting down with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, the failed candidate admitted that she was intentionally trying to shut down Michael Bloomberg’s campaign with her debate-night attacks.

“A lot of post-mortems on his campaign credit you with single-handedly tanking his candidacy with the way you took him apart in that debate,” Maddow recapped. “Is that what you were trying to do?”

“Yes,” Warren replied simply.

Watch:

“In my view, he was absolutely the riskiest candidate for Democrats on that stage, and let me tell you part of the reason why. All of those things in his history mean that he could never launch any of those attacks against Donald Trump. Think about the things we are going to need to talk about: hiding your taxes, history with women, embracing racist policies, when you’re in charge, helping bazillionaires and leaving everybody else behind,” Warren explained. “Shoot, he wouldn’t even be able to launch the autocrat argument against him because Michael Bloomberg’s the guy who, when he was mayor, literally got the change in the laws so he could hang onto power longer.”

Perhaps Trump has a point?
