Irony: Oprah takes HARD tumble in middle of speech about ‘balance,’ while stage-ninja JLo was her guest

As the saying goes, “the bigger they are, the harder they fall.”

While this old phrase is generally not used literally, globally famous talk-show host and philanthropist Oprah Winfrey may not have known that. She is currently on her “Oprah’s 2020 Vision: Your Life In Focus” tour and while at her show in Los Angeles, had quite the unfortunate and ironic mishap.

Talking about “balance” and how it fits into her personal definition of “wellness,” the advice maven took several steps across the stage before it appears she loses her own sense of balance and takes a rather painful-looking tumble.

Watch:

Not one to let a quick slip get the best of her, Winfrey told the audience “wrong shoes” by way of explanation. She reportedly removed her shoes for the remainder of the show, which was probably for the best.

In an Instagram shoutout following the show, Oprah posted a video in which a group of women can be seen discussing and debating singer and actress Jennifer Lopez’s (who visited Winfrey backstage) all-yellow outfit. The caption thanked Los Angeles for the amazing energy, and briefly touched on how she plans to recuperate from the accident.

In a series of story videos on the social media site, Oprah talks about the public blunder and how she isn’t the least bit embarrassed by what transpired.

“I just thought, okay I fell, everybody knows what falling is,” she explained. “I thought this was a great day in spite of the fall. But I picked myself up. I don’t know if it was something on the floor, or my foot twisted, or what. I had the indication I was going to fall before. And then, it just is what it is. It was a great, great day.”

While most postings on the unfortunate situation garnered sympathy, there were some people on Twitter who weren’t inclined to send Winfrey their deepest sympathies. Some, in fact, found it to be the perfect time to bring up her sketchy and seemingly quite familiar relationship with the disgraced Harvey Weinstein.
