President Donald Trump received raucous cheers and applause — including chants of “four more years” — during his rally Thursday evening in Charleston, South Carolina.
But while it was clear the crowd definitely wanted four more years of him in office, it was unclear which Democrat presidential candidate would be easiest for him to beat.
And so with this in mind, the president decided to conduct an impromptu mock South Carolina presidential primary poll.
“I assume this is okay from a campaign finance standpoint,” the president said of his polling idea while introducing it to the crowd. “Lindsey, Tim, our great congressman are we allowed to do [this]? Am I allowed to request [a poll]?”
Both South Carolina Sens. Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott were in attendance at the rally. More on this later.
As for the poll, the president’s interest was in finding out “who would be the weakest candidate against” him going into the general election.
But because he was campaigning in South Carolina and the upcoming South Carolina Democrat primary election wasn’t slated to include billionaire candidate Michael Bloomberg, the president dismissed Bloomberg from the virtual ballot right away.
“Should we include ‘Mini Mike‘ or not? ‘Mini Mike’ is gone. I think he’s gone. He doesn’t have a chance. So let’s not talk [about him]. He’s not in your election anyway,” he said.
That left Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Sen. Bernie Sanders, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, former Vice President Joe Biden, and billionaire Tom Steyer.
After a couple more rounds of eliminations, the president finally wound up with just Biden and Sanders. And not surprisingly, what with his penchant for socialism and Communist dictators, Sanders wound up winning it.
During the “polling” process, the president also took a shot at Fox News for a poll it conducted this week which found that Trump would lose to every candidate in a match-up.
The poll reportedly showed “Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, and Mike Bloomberg beating [Trump] handily, with Elizabeth Warren, Pete Buttigieg, and Amy Klobuchar leading him by spreads that are within the margin of error.”
Upon the poll’s publication, the media rushed to cite it as evidence that the president is screwed going into the 2020 race.
“A political professor renowned for accurately reading the runes for previous presidential contests has said a Fox News poll showing Donald Trump trailing the main Democratic contenders in a head-to-head is a bad sign for the incumbent leader,” Newsweek reported.
“Allan Lichtman is a political historian at American University in Washington who helped create a model that has correctly predicted the winner of seven of the last eight U.S. presidential elections.”
The poll didn’t please the president:
Worst Polls, just like in 2016 when they were so far off the mark, are the @FoxNews Polls. Why doesn’t Fox finally get a competent Polling Company?

He briefly referenced the poll during his rally.
“This is a real poll,” he said, comparing his impromptu poll to the “fake” polls that he believes FNC conducts. “This isn’t one of those fake polls taken by — in all fairness, I love you, Fox — taken by Fox, the worst pollster. This pollster hates Trump’s guts.”
“I was losing the last election by a fortune. They said he did great with women. What!? Everything was wrong, and they never replaced this guy.”
Later during the rally, Graham and Scott joined Trump on stage to praise him for his accomplishments and slam the Democrat Party’s “neverending bulls–t.”
“Welcome to South Carolina, Mr.President,” Graham said he took the stage about halfway through the rally. “You know why you’re going to win? You’ve been a damn good president.”
“Thank you for two hundred conservative judges. Thank you for Justice Kavanaugh and Justice Gorsuch. Thank you for rebuilding the military and killing the terrorists. Thank you for the strongest economy in my lifetime. And thank you, more than anything else, for putting up with the never-ending bullshit you have to go through.”

Scott followed up him on stage a second later to issue his own praise.
“If South Carolina is Trump country, let me hear you scream! If you have benefited from the Trump economy, let me hear you scream! One last thing: If you want four more years of President Trump, let me hear you scream!”
FYI, there was a LOT of screaming.
During the rally, the president also spoke briefly about the #WalkAway movement, which scored a big victory this week when six elected Democrats and two elected Independents from Mississippi joined the Republican Party.
“The insanity of the Democrat Party is why millions of registered Democrat voters are joining our movement,” the president said. “They are joining our great new Republican Party.”
“This November we are going to take back the House, we are going to hold the Senate and we are going to keep the White House.”
As for what happened in Mississippi, Republican Gov. Tate Reeves believes that Sanders — the winner of Friday’s poll — is the primary reason for the switch.
“We are in a scenario in this country where you can choose to be a member of the party led by Donald J. Trump, or you can choose to be a member of the socialist Democratic party led by Bernie Sanders,” he said to local station WLBT.
