Trey Gowdy: Time for intel officials to stop briefing ‘epidemic leaker’ Adam Schiff

Former Republican congressman Trey Gowdy suggested intelligence officials should just stop briefing “epidemic leaker” Rep. Adam Schiff.

The Fox News contributor slammed the House Intelligence Committee chairman during a discussion Monday on “Hannity” about the recent reports of US intelligence assessments on alleged Russian meddling in the 2020 election.

Gowdy noted that it took more than two years for special counsel Robert Mueller investigating alleged Trump-Russia collusion to conclude there wasn’t enough evidence to back up the claims.

“It took two minutes this time for us to find out there was no evidence,” the former lawmaker told Fox News host Sean Hannity, referring to the hoax reports on Russia helping Trump’s 2020 campaign based on “overstated” intelligence. “As soon as a Republican asked the briefer in a classified intel briefing ‘what evidence do you have to support that assessment?’ The answer was none.”

The intelligence community’s top election security official, Shelby Pierson, apparently misrepresented Russia’s alleged interference in the 2020 election with a goal of helping Trump’s campaign. After setting off the liberal media machine which had a feeding frenzy over the unverified report, it was found that there was no proof to back up the claims.

“For over a year, we were lectured by the D.C. media and the Democrats that no one is above the law,” Gowdy told Hannity on Monday.

“No one is above the law, apparently except whoever leaks classified information out of Adam Schiff’s committee,” he added. “What the Intelligence Committee needs to give some thought to is [to] stop briefing someone who has a history and is an epidemic leaker.”

“Quit briefing him,” Gowdy said.

“Schiff lied to the American people. Devin Nunes told the truth to the American people. We have both their documents,” Hannity said, referring to the California Republican who is expected to soon be making criminal referrals against Mueller’s team.

Hannity asked why Schiff was not being held accountable for lying to Americans.

“Unfortunately, Sean, it is not against the law to lie to the American people,” Gowdy replied.

“There should be a consequence. And I hope people in the People’s Republic of California will remember it come November,” he added, pointing out the “dirty little secret” that politicians can lie to Americans but “it is a crime for you to lie to Congress.”

White House Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley slammed Democrats and a complicit media for another Russia witch hunt hoax on Monday.

“I don’t know how many times journalists have to get leaks from Adam Schiff, or his staffers that are completely false and proven to be a lie before they just start discounting everything he says. It’s absolutely incredible to watch what they’re trying to do to this president,” he told, “America’s Newsroom” on Monday.

“Democrats continue to do those selective leaks, like they did with [Brett] Kavanaugh, like they did with impeachment time and time again,” he said. “They’re trying to manipulate the system, hurt this president and the media sadly is complicit and compliant with everything these Democrats are trying to do.”
