‘It’s over’: Calls to fire Chris Matthews after he compares Sanders’ victory to Hitler defeating France

Congratulations, Bernie, you’re the new Hitler!

In early 2016, as then-GOP non-establishment presidential candidate Donald Trump began to piledrive through the primaries, the media’s “journalists” and pundits began comparing him to deceased Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.

Four years later, they’ve begun to do the same thing again — except this time their target is Democrat non-establishment presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders, and the first pundit to posit the comparison was MSNBC’s Chris Matthews.

During the network’s coverage Saturday of the Nevada caucus, he complained about Sanders’ blowout victory and warned that, despite concerns about the senator easily losing to Trump in November, it’s far too late now “to stop him.”

That’s when he dropped the Nazi reference.

Listen (disable your adblocker if the video doesn’t appear):

“I’m reading last night about the fall of France in the summer of 1940,” he said, referencing France’s surrender on June 22, 1940, to … wait for it … Nazi Germany.

“And the general calls up Churchill and says, ‘It’s over,’ and Churchill says, ‘How can it be? You got the greatest army in Europe. How can it be over?’ He said, ‘It’s over.'”

The remarks prompted immediate backlash from left-wingers outraged over Matthews comparing America’s first-ever ethnically Jewish front-runner candidate to the Nazis.

Look:

They were right and wrong at the same time.

On one hand, the “hyperbolic hysteria” was indeed disturbing, though to be clear, it was only being pushed by Matthews and other left-wing media personalities.

Over at Fox News, meanwhile, the commentary was reportedly far more “sensible” and “rational.”

But they were also wrong in the sense that these are the exact same sorts of far-left zealots who’ve spent the last four years smearing Trump as a Nazi and his kind supporters as veritable Storm Troopers.

For them to now complain about such comparisons being lobbed at Sanders seems rather hypocritical, especially when you factor in all the counter-evidence.

Trump has been the most pro-Jewish president in American history. How so? Because for one, he had the guts to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and then relocate the U.S. Embassy to the ancient city. He’s likewise been unequivocal in his support of the Israelis over the terror-affiliated Palestinians.

Yet when confronted with these facts, Matthews’ hypocritical critics doubled down on their criticisms of Trump, thus demonstrating they’re just as detached from reality as the MSNBC host whom they now hate.

Look:

*facepalm*

Matthews’ critics were also wrong because, while Sanders is an ethnic Jew, he’s never actually stood up for the Jewish people, ergo why he hobnobs with virulent anti-Semites.
