AOC’s ‘big announcement’ eerily similar to Justice Democrats entity that put her in office

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the socialist Democrat from New York, promised on Thursday that a “big announcement” was coming on Friday, and the announcement appears to be the launching of a new PAC to build a progressive majority in Congress.

The term “progressive” having become code for socialism from hard-left zealots like AOC.

Ocasio-Cortez announced an initial list of endorsements for The Courage to Change PAC on Twitter, and according to the list, it appears that white males need not apply.

In a subsequent tweet, she would add: “It’s time to elect a progressive majority in Congress accountable to strong, grassroots movements that push support for issues like Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, racial justice, & more. It’s time to elect public servants with the Courage to Change.”

The PAC seeks contributions and its website details candidate requirements, making clear that “established incumbents” are viable targets.

The Courage to Change website boldly declares: “Contributions will be used to make early investments in progressive challengers that can even the playing field against established incumbents, and bolster progressive leaders in Congress who take difficult but righteous stands. All endorsees will embody the ideals of racial, social, economic, and environmental justice.”

Courage to Change is also represented on Twitter.

All of which sounds eerily similar to the group responsible for putting Ocasio-Cortez in office, the Justice Democrats.

Her former chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, was co-founder and executive director of the organization that targeted incumbent Democrats. In 2018, Ocasio-Cortez beat incumbent Joe Crowley, who was the fourth-ranked Democrat in the House at the time.

Interestingly, Ocasio-Cortez and Chakrabarti were officially removed from the board of the Justice Democrats PAC after a Federal Election Commission complaint last year.

Turns out, they held “legal control over the entity,” according to the political action committee’s website, at the same time it was playing a key role in supporting Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign and she never disclosed this to the FEC.

It’s clear that Ocasio-Cortez is tapped into a proficient political structure of some sort, having raised over $5.3 million last year alone, with $1.9 million coming in the fourth quarter alone, according to Politico. She also raised an additional $85,000 for other Democrats during the final quarter.

While AOC manages to package socialism in a pretty little wrapper, a part-time Bronx bartender doesn’t pull in a sizable cash haul like that without a heavy assist.

It would appear that the fellow Democrats had good cause to express concern earlier this year over Ocasio-Cortez refusing to contribute to the official campaign arm of the party, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
