Trump mimics Pelosi’s ‘distracting’ SOTU antics, crowd chants, ‘Lock her up!’

President Donald Trump held a rally Monday evening in New Hampshire, delivering the energy and enthusiasm Democrats seem to be lacking in the Granite State.

With voters going to the polls on Tuesday, the president commented on the antics of Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., at last week’s State of the Union address.

“On Tuesday, I delivered my address on the State of the Union and I had somebody behind me who is mumbling terribly, mumbling,” Trump said, before mimicking the behavior. Mumbling, mumbling. Very distracting.”

The lively crowd began chanting, “Lock her up! Lock her up!”

This being the chant often heard in the 2016 presidential election at Trump rallies, being directed at Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

“I was very distracted. I’m speaking and a woman is mumbling terribly behind me, angry, there was a little anger back there, we are the ones who should be angry. Not them. We are the ones who should be angry.”

The remark about who should be angry being spot on, given that Trump has been under fire from the left since before ever taking office. For more than three years he has endured one investigation after another, and multiple accusations that allegedly justify impeachment.

The remarkable thing being the many things the president has accomplished during this time, in the face of the absolute resistance from the Democratic Party, to include the weaponization of the House of Representatives under Pelosi.

Tensions between Trump and the speaker were hard to miss at the State of the Union.

There was a “snubbed handshake,” as Pelosi was left hanging when she extended her hand after the president handed the speaker and Vice President Mike Pence copies of his speech.

Throughout the evening, Pelosi was seen mumbling, often pursing her lips or making faces, or shuffling through the pages of Trump’s SOTU speech — like a petulant child, she would rip it in half at the end, after apparently pre-tearing the pages.

As reported last week, Pelosi, second in the line of presidential succession, said she has not spoken to President Trump since mid-October, at the infamous White House meeting on Syria — Pelosi was seen in a photo rudely standing up at the table and pointing at the president, before Democratic leadership stormed out.

Trump mocked Democrats ahead of Tuesday’s voting, joking with supporters about voting for the weakest Democratic candidates — New Hampshire is not a fully open primary, but unaffiliated voters can vote in either party’s primary.

“We hear that there could be – because you have crossovers in primaries, don’t you – so I hear a lot of Republicans tomorrow will vote for the weakest candidate possible of the Democrats,” the president said. “Does that make sense? You people wouldn’t do that.”

“My only problem is I’m trying to figure out who is their weakest candidate,” Trump continued. “I think they’re all weak.”

Being such a great retail politician, he then made an appeal for those independent voters.

“We proudly welcome and embrace voters of all parties and political persuasions who want to join our mission, a very simple mission, remember? Make America Great Again,” he said. “You can vote for the weakest candidate, if you want.”

In the end, Trump cut short his rally to fly to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware to pay respects to two U.S. soldiers killed in Afghanistan Saturday when a person dressed in an Afghan army uniform opened fire with a machine gun.
