Rep. Omar to Americans: You should feel guilt that your policies are destroying lives around the globe

Rep. Ilhan Omar is once again sparking questions of why she is serving in the United States Congress and being paid by American taxpayers.

The Minnesota Democrat was trashing the U.S., to enthusiastic applause, at a Democracy Now! and Rising Majority event in Washington, D.C. on Friday.

Sitting alongside her radical Democrat colleague and fellow Muslim lawmaker Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, Omar slammed U.S. foreign policy and essentially blamed this country that welcomed her as a Somali refugee when she was a child of being responsible for catastrophic floods in other countries.

The two progressive members of the so-called “squad” blamed America for all of the world’s ills and the far-left activists in the audience ate it all up.

“We’re having a conversation about cross-border negotiations happening for workers because all of our destinies are tied together. When you see a Somali refugee, or an Iraqi refugee, or a Libyan refugee — we often are like ‘Oh, this is my neighbor — they must have survived some struggle.’ We don’t ever pause to think, ‘What American policy made them come over here?'” Omar told the Howard University audience.

“When you see flooding happening in a country abroad and you are urgently raising money for these lives to be saved, you don’t think about, ‘How have I contributed to the climate warming that has led to these floodings and these catastrophes that are taking place abroad?” she continued.

In other remarks, Omar contended that the U.S. should be “re-imagining a vision of what our foreign policy should be” in light of problems she claimed were caused by the American military. The ungrateful refugee also urged the country to stop using money for “militarizing our government” and use it instead “for the prospect of peace around the world.”

Omar is no stranger to criticism of the U.S. and its policies, having blamed the country last year for the political chaos in Venezuela, claiming America “helped lead the devastation” by enforcing sanctions against the South American nation.

The freshman lawmaker slammed the U.S. as well for failing to live up to her expectations of living the American dream when she first arrived as a Somali refugee.

“Because the America we were shown in the orientation tapes when we were coming here from the refugee camp in Kenya had beautiful homes with white picket fences, happy families eating a full meal in their beautiful living rooms,” she explained at a rally in Iowa for Sen. Bernie Sanders. “It had happy children getting on the bus to go to their beautiful schools. It had pictures of amazing malls, mega-malls. It had pictures of beautifully built bridges and highways. It was a picture of abundance. Now that’s the ideal.”

At Friday’s event, as she trashed the United States while being paid to represent it, Omar reminded the crowd of the importance of making the “connections” and hinted at a new policy she would be introducing soon.

“And so when we are now thinking about a new way of re-imagining, a vision of what our foreign policy should be,” she said. “And as I will introduce next week, our pathway to peace in thinking about the world, it is important for us to have these connections between what sanctions could mean for the destruction of lives abroad.”

Not surprisingly, Twitter users slammed the Minnesota congresswoman for her continuing disrespect and dangerous outlook.
