Friday was a judgment day of sorts for the left, as a number of people involved in the impeachment coup were given their pink slips by the Trump administration, to include Ambassador Gordon Sondland and Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman who testified against President Trump before the House intelligence committee.

Late in the day, Donald Trump Jr. tweeted out what was surely a gratifying jab at failed, lead impeachment manager Adam Schiff, derisively thanking him for “unearthing who all needed to be fired.”

Schiff, of course, is one of the main drivers behind the doomed impeachment effort and was the frontman in the bogus congressional process. The witnesses he called before the Intelligence Committee had no real evidence beyond their questionable opinions. As such, there was never really a doubt that those who participated in the foolhardy effort to bring down the innocent, duly elected president of the United States would get their comeuppance in the end.

David Pressman, the attorney for Vindman moaned in a statement, “The truth has cost LTC Alexander Vindman his job, his career and his privacy … The most powerful man in the world — buoyed by the silent, the pliable, and the complicit — has decided to exact revenge.”

Don Jr. followed up, retweeting …

Vindman and his twin brother Yevgeny who also worked for the NSC in the White House were escorted off the grounds Friday after Trump essentially confirmed to reporters that Alexander’s fate was sealed. “Well, I’m not happy with him,” the president said. “You think I’m supposed to be happy with him? I’m not.”

Yevgeny worked in the office that vetted documents such as John Bolton’s manuscript.

The purge of those who cooperated with Schiff also claimed Sondland. The ambassador issued what might be characterized as a more gracious statement than that put out by Vindman’s lawyer.

“I was advised today that the president intends to recall me effective immediately as United States ambassador to the European Union,” Sondland said Friday. “I am grateful to President Trump for having given me the opportunity to serve, to Secretary Pompeo for his consistent support and to the exceptional and dedicated professionals at the U.S. Mission to the European Union.”

Other key actors in the impeachment drama will justly find themselves in the crosshairshttps://twitter.com/TimMurtaugh/status/1225991770435129350 of Trump’s wrath for some time to come, just as Democrats promise to continue their resistance to the president.

The left has nowhere else to go at this point … no realistic party leader to follow and certainly no rational policy ideas to promote to voters, so it’s a given that “Impeach Trump” will continue to be the rallying cry for the deflating Democrats.
