Now that Donald Trump is acquitted forever, the aptly nicknamed “Do Nothing” Democrats have never looked more powerless since they lost the Civil War to Abraham Lincoln and the Republicans.
The truly mind-boggling aspect of the Trump impeachment sham is how inevitable this result was from the beginning. But House Democrats collectively had a five months-long stroke. How could a politician as deft as Speaker Nancy Pelosi, with as much experience in Washington as she has, have gotten snookered into exhausting all her political capital on such a quixotic bridge to nowhere?
She may not have been drunk in that slowed-down, viral Facebook video, but Nancy Pelosi got straight up brain poisoning-level intoxicated on Trump derangement syndrome to let it come to this. How could she not have foreseen the ultimate conclusion would be an acquittal in the Republican-controlled Senate? Leaving her and her party with nothing but an epic embarrassment?
It’s enough to make you wonder if there really aren’t puppet masters controlling politics behind the scenes, scripting the Washington drama, and calling all the shots. They must have sat Pelosi down and said the orders from higher up are Trump needs to be handed even more epic wins to keep the country in balance. Do the impeachment proceedings. Sorry, this one doesn’t swing your way. Be a good team player like Hillary. She was actually pretty cool about 2016. The oracle has spoken!
All kidding aside, here’s how bad this is for Democrats:
Impeachment, The Democrats’ WMD in Iraq
The Trump impeachment debacle will go down in history as the Democrats’ Iraq WMD moment. When we couldn’t find any weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, it was catastrophically damaging to George W. Bush and the GOP. We went to war in Iraq on the premise that Saddam Hussein had WMD.
When none could be found, it dealt such a terrible blow to the Republican Party, they lost the White House for the eight years of Obama. Then-Secretary of State Colin Powell’s chances of ever being president went out the window too. It was so embarrassing for Republicans, we had to listen to GOP presidential hopefuls go all the way back to 1988 and talk up Reagan through three presidential election cycles, with nary a mention of George W. Bush. Like he never even happened.
But the Trump impeachment is so much worse than the Bush Administration’s failure to find WMD in Iraq. For one, going to Iraq was a bipartisan affair. Hillary Clinton lost her all-but-certain chance at the nomination in 2008 to a recently unheard of state senator from Illinois because she voted to go to Iraq. Nancy Pelosi’s impeachment was the most partisan impeachment vote in history.
This stain is on the Democrats alone.

What makes it even worse though, is that Democrats knew ahead of time that there was no quid pro quo, and they moved forward with impeachment articles anyways. Try and figure that one out.
The phone call between Donald Trump and Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky was so sinless, Rep. Adam Schiff had to blatantly lie about it during a congressional hearing last September. Schiff put words in the president’s mouth he never said to make him sound guilty, if he had actually said those words. With help from the left-leaning press, Schiff tried to defend what he said as a parody of Donald Trump. They clearly don’t know what the word parody means. That wasn’t a parody of Trump, it was a self-parody. Which is what Nancy Pelosi became when she tore up Donald Trump’s speech.
The wildly trending hashtag #PettyPelosi was right. Pelosi is now so out of touch with any kind of good sense, she thinks throwing a tantrum on live television during an important civic ceremony made her look defiant, while somehow making the president seem less legitimate. When in reality it was an amazingly vicious self-parody of how petty Pelosi and her entire impeachment have been.
House Democrats knew in advance they didn’t have any smoking gun. They also knew they didn’t have the votes in the Senate to do anything real. They just wanted to spend all this time and energy to get an asterisk on Trump’s Wikipedia page that he’d been impeached.
Well, they should put Pelosi’s picture on the Dictionary.com entry for petty.
