Democratic Senator Mazie Hirono was rebuked by CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on live TV when she falsely claimed that President Trump “wasn’t acquitted” at the Senate impeachment trial.
As everyone knows, the Senate acquitted Trump of both impeachment articles this week. In fact, the Trump camp reacted by trolling Democrats with a triumphant video crowing: ‘All I do is win, win, win — no matter what!”
During her bizarre CNN interview, Mazie Hirono remarked: “No, he wasn’t acquitted! It was a rigged trial. You don’t get acquitted when you don’t even get to call relevant witnesses or have the documents because the President stonewalled all efforts on the part of the House to get the information they requested.”
Hirono continued: “So, there you go. It was a rigged trial. He can run around saying he was acquitted but you don’t get acquitted in a rigged trial.”
A stone-faced Blitzer responded by saying: “Well, I just want to point out, Senator, there was a roll call — guilty or not guilty. Not guilty was the majority and the Chief Justice of the United States announced that he was acquitted, that he was not guilty.”
Wolf Blitzer: "The Senate has clearly spoken now. @realDonaldTrump was acquitted."
Dem Sen Mazie Hirono: "Wolf, he wasn't acquitted…"

At that point, Hirono claimed — without evidence — that “the American public knows that it was a rigged trial.”
She continued: “Okay, you’re found not guilty in a rigged trial. I don’t think that they think this was all kosher. It wasn’t. Meanwhile, you have the President crowing about it, which is totally expected. And now it’s anything goes for this President and this administration and all his enablers.”
Meanwhile, millions of Americans hope that instead of wasting time and taxpayer money on sham investigations, lawmakers do their jobs — which is to serve their constituents and address America’s numerous problems.
Fox News host Tucker Carlson said watching the sham impeachment was like watching the movie “Titanic.” We all know how it’s going to end: The ship is going to sink — just like the Democratic Party is right now.
“No matter how fervently Democrats wished otherwise, the President was always going to remain in office,” Carlson said. “And as predicted, both impeachment articles failed in the Senate. Obstruction of Congress went down 53 to 47. The abuse of power charge failed 52 to 48. A lone Republican, as you may have read, defected and join the Democrats.”
Tucker continued: “Now that impeachment is over, maybe we can have our country back. From last September until Wednesday, Ukraine was the only thing that mattered in Washington. That’s an awful lot of wasted time.”

Carlson said the impeachment did nothing to help the country or improve the lives of everyday Americans. It was merely political theater for flailing Speaker Nancy Pelosi and hapless impeachment manager Adam Schiff.
“So what do we get for it in the end?” Tucker asked. “Nothing really. No tangible benefits at all.”
However, Tucker said the sham impeachment spotlighted that Democrats hate President Trump more than they love America. And thanks to their vindictive power play, Trump’s approval ratings rocketed to a personal best.
“A new Gallup poll shows the President with the highest approval rating of his presidency, higher than the day he was inaugurated,” Carlson noted. “Who did that? Democrats did that. Impeachment didn’t just fail, it helped the man they say they hate. But you shouldn’t be surprised. Like “Titanic,” the ending was obvious from the opening credits. Only [Democrats] didn’t get it.”
