Kellyanne Conway: Pelosi was an ‘incorrigible child’ who ‘should be censured,’ denounced on Senate floor

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway called for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to be “censured” for her “petty” behavior during the State of the Union address.

Conway minced no words on Fox News Wednesday, calling out the California Democrat and members of her Party for the disrespect they showed to President Donald Trump and, ultimately, the American people.

“I think it’s very disappointing for the people to literally watch Democrats sitting on their hands,” she told host Sandra Smith on “America’s Newsroom” Wednesday.

“Nancy Pelosi [is] shredding the memory of Kayla Mueller, shredding 100-year-old Tuskegee airmen, shredding little two-year-old Ellie [Schneider] who was born at 21 weeks and six days. and the list goes on and on…” Conway said, as she noted some of the president’s guests who were acknowledged during emotional moments in the speech.

“People sitting on their hands and rolling their eyes when a crying man with cancer was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom,” she added, referring to conservative radio icon Rush Limbaugh being awarded the nation’s highest civilian honor.

“I think it shows you how petty and peevish and partisan the Democratic Party has become. And for all the people out there who fancy themselves the armchair psychiatrist, trying to analyze certain people, they ought to shift their craft over to Nancy Pelosi,” Conway remarked.

“What is wrong with her? Who mutters to themselves through a State of the Union?” she asked, referring to Pelosi’s reactions to Trump’s speech which were clearly seen by viewers as she sat behind the president on the dais.

At times, Pelosi could be seen mouthing “not true” and shaking her head “no” in response to Trump’s remarks about Democrats’ support of free government health care for illegal immigrants.

“She looked like she was reading the Cheesecake Factory menu all night going through every single page,” Conway said.

“I think that she should either be censured or I believe the same woman who led a resolution in the House to denounce a tweet last summer — there ought to be a Senate resolution denouncing her behavior last night,” Conway added, denouncing Pelosi’s disregard for “the decorum of the United States Congress, the sanctity of the State of the Union.”

She addressed the headline-making moment when Pelosi ripped up her copy of the president’s speech as he concluded speaking. The Democrat was roundly condemned for her childish behavior which she defended by saying,  “I tore it up. I was trying to find one page with truth on it. I couldn’t.”

“So America saw an incorrigible child, ripping up a presidential State of the Union that is meant for the people,” Conway said about the moment. “I’ve seen it in the Situation Room, saw it in the Cabinet Room twice, saw it in another meeting. She has a temper tantrum and then she leaves. Now the country saw it.”

Vice President Mike Pence, who was standing next to the Speaker when she melodramatically tore the pages, condemned the action that “dishonored” the State of the Union.

“I think it was a new low. I wasn’t sure if she was ripping up the speech or ripping up the Constitution,” Pence said during an interview on “Fox & Friends” Wednesday.

“There’s always a basic decorum and a basic respect. But to have her stand up and tear up that speech really dishonored the moment, and I really thought it was beneath the dignity of a joint session of Congress, and I think it will be remembered as such,” he added.

Smith asked Conway about another moment at the beginning of the night when it appeared Trump snubbed Pelosi’s extended hand.

“She extended her hand to the president. He seemingly snubbed the handshake. He didn’t shake the hand of the vice president, but we didn’t see his hand extended because — was that purposeful on the part of the president?” the Fox News host asked.

“I’m not even sure it was purposeful. I’m not even sure he noticed her or her extended hand,” Conway replied. “And honestly, who cares? She’s one of the faces of impeachment.”

Pelosi’s was slammed by the White House for her “legacy” as Twitter users set #PettyPelosi trending.
