Chuck Schumer scolds childish Kamala Harris for laughing as leftists mourn America

In a remarkable scene, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer scolded Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., for laughing during a Friday news conference.

The Democratic leader of the Senate called the news conference amid reports that Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has the needed votes to prevent calling additional witnesses in the impeachment trial against President Trump.

As a result, the trial may end as soon as Saturday with an acquittal of the president, and liberals are beside themselves — the hashtag #RIPAmerica was trending online.

Harris is seen laughing and cutting up with Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, as they join Schumer on stage. Schumer turned and gave Harris a stern look, raising his hand in a gesture to suggest that she should cut it out.

This prompted the failed presidential candidate to wipe the smile from her face, like a naughty schoolgirl. She then poked Brown, as if to imply that it was his fault she got into trouble.

When she was given an opportunity to address reporters, Harris then wanted to talk about what is or is not “serious.”

“There have been three impeachments of a president of the United States in the over two centuries of our history,” Harris said, with a super-serious tone. “This is the most serious in terms of the charges.”

It seems Democrats are falling apart as their impeachment strategy blows up in their races. President Trump shared a video earlier in the day of his two chief antagonizers clashing on the floor of the U.S. Senate.

In the clip Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y. is seen rushing to the lectern ahead of Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., the Democrats’ lead impeachment manager, to give the closing remarks in the final moments of the Q & A phase of Trump’s Senate trial.

As Nadler usurps Schiff’s ability to have the final word, the House Intel Committee chairman can be heard urgently calling out, “Jerry. Jerry. Jerry!”

The left is undergoing a collective meltdown comparable to the night of the 2016 election when Trump won the presidency. “RIP America” and “RIP GOP” among other doomsday hashtags have been trending throughout the day:

As for Harris joking around, we are reminded by RNC rapid response director Steve Guest that, according to the Democrat Party, “impeachment is supposed to be sad and somber.”

Here’s a quick sampling of other responses to the story from Twitter:
