Fox News co-host Juan Williams vehemently disagreed with the praise for President Trump’s appearance at the March For Life rally, saying his attendance further “divides the country.”
The liberal co-host of “The Five” delivered his tone-deaf argument on Friday’s show, criticizing Trump for what many have lauded as a powerful message with his appearance at Friday’s event, making him the first sitting U.S. president to address the March for Life rally in person.

Williams pointed to polling which he claimed shows 60 percent of Americans believe abortion “should be legal in all or most cases,” as he noted that he finds it “incredible” that the media provides “equal coverage” to the pro-choice and pro-life marches.
He also pointed to a new Gallup poll which showed that dissatisfaction with current U.S. abortion laws is at a new high.
“Fifty-eight percent of Americans say they are dissatisfied with the nation’s policies on abortion, marking a seven-percentage-point increase from one year ago and a new high in Gallup’s trend. On the flip side, 32% are now satisfied, a new low,” the report indicated.
“They say they’re not happy right now with abortion laws in the country. That’s where the energy and the passion’s coming from,” Williams told his co-hosts before going on to condemn Trump for disregarding that divide.
“But to me, when I see the president do this, you know, as someone who’s been around awhile, I saw Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan didn’t do this. George W. Bush, his dad [George H.W. Bush], none of them did it,” Williams said. “Why does Donald Trump think that this is good? It divides the country.”
Trump recounted what his administration has accomplished for the pro-life cause during his address to rally-goers Friday. He defended unborn children while slamming Democrats for becoming more “radical” on the issue of abortion.
“Unborn children have never had a stronger defender in the White House,” the president said during his speech. “They are coming after me because I am fighting for you.”

Fox News co-host Jesse Watters tried to interject in Williams’ rant, saying Trump may have felt “fiercely” about the issue.
But Williams shut him down.
“Let me finish. I don’t doubt that those people felt fiercely,” he said. “All of us sitting here might have some strong opinion. But the president of the United States hammering this culture wars issue to his political benefit is expedient and does not — this is a guy who was pro-choice for most of his life, he’s had three marriages -”
Co-host Greg Gutfeld jumped in to chastise Williams.
“God forbid he changes his mind. You know, you can’t read everybody’s mind, Juan. If he believes it or not, you don’t know that, so that’s a stupid argument,” Gutfeld said.
He noted how the pro-choice movement has changed as their view of abortion was once more “middle of the road.”
“Pro-choice has changed so much that if you voice any of the slightest thought that a late-term abortion is bad, you are wrong,” Gutfeld said. “Pro-choice has changed to such an extreme level that you have to run out there and exclaim that abortion is great.”
But Williams gave a counter-argument, saying it is the pro-life supporters who have changed.
“Republicans used to be big advocates of family planning until you got into a situation where they saw there was some political benefit to it,” he claimed, saying the “big change” over the last five decades has “come from the right, not the left.”
Twitter users slammed the Fox News co-host for his attack on the president.
Juan Williams needs to listen to Greg Gutfeld when it comes to snobbish intellectual journalists living in a bubble. Juan says 60% of Americans support abortion. I can’t find 20% of the people I know who support abortion. Why do 100K people go to right2life rallies against 10K

Juan Williams said Trump speaking at the March for life “divides the country”.
Please inform Mr Williams that I find the idea that politicians fighting for abortion rights & accepting funds from planned Parenthood unacceptable. Does he really want to go down this road???— BJMorrison (@BJMorrison5) January 25, 2020
Juan Williams accused President Trump of dividing the nation when he attended and spoke at the right to life demonstration in DC.
Hey Juan! When has the nation ever been united over abortion?— Morning Coffee (@Greg4USA) January 25, 2020
Hilarious it is! #nobody Juan Williams claims @realDonaldTrump attending #prolife event divides country. @BarackObama‘s presence at prochoice/abortion events didn’t? Or is this just one more #leftists one-way street?

@TheJuanWilliams is using the word “divisive” to silence @realDonaldTrump and all the rest of us who believe abortion is murder and thus is wrong. Rhetoric like Juan expressed is what is divisive as well as dismissive of our views.https://t.co/URCriqO2gf

Prior to about 10 minutes ago I thought Juan Williams was just irritating. His comments on abortion and regarding the President attending the March for Life rally just pushed him into the deranged category.

Juan Williams opines that Trump’s support for the March for Life is “quite divisive” as if the government subsidizing abortion with American taxpayers money isn’t. #ProLife #marchforlife2020

#JuanWilliams is so out of touch with mainstream America it is pitiful. Why does #FoxNews keep him employed? I always turn off Fox when he is on the show. https://t.co/8EieIB1yeO
