Rush Limbaugh thinks Rep. Adam Schiff should be “front and center” in President Trump’s Senate impeachment trial.
The conservative radio talk show host urged Republicans to make the Democratic impeachment manager the “face behind this entire thing,” calling Schiff out for “manufacturing things” as he spoke on his nationally syndicated radio show Wednesday.
“I really think the Republicans ought to bring Schiff in here and put him front and center and I think they ought to call him,” he said on “The Rush Limbaugh Show,” after slamming Democrats for demanding witnesses and documents in the trial “because they know they don’t have enough evidence to convict a ham sandwich, much less the president of the United States.”
“This guy needs to upheld front and center as the energy, the face behind this entire thing, because he’ll fold,” Limbaugh said. “Folks, he hasn’t said much that is the truth since this began.”
The Democrats’ opening arguments began Wednesday with Schiff accusing Trump of trying to “cheat” in the 2020 election campaign with his actions regarding Ukraine. Limbaugh blasted the Democrats for “lying about the same old things” and trying to mischaracterize everything Trump said.
“I really think it’s critical to expose Adam Schiff in this, I think. If we’re gonna start calling witnesses… get Schiff up there first,” he said of the California Democrat and House Intelligence Committee chairman.
“Everything revolves around Schiff. You are looking at human slime. I don’t like saying that. You’re just looking at a bad guy, folks. You’re looking at a really bad, poisoned guy,” Limbaugh added. “The guy is so partisan that he has just abandoned all pretense of decency — and he cannot tell the truth about any of this.”
He detailed how Schiff, who suddenly announced new “impeachment evidence” last week, mischaracterized a text message involving indicted businessman, Lev Parnas, a former associate of Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani.
In a letter to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., last week, Schiff highlighted messages between Parnas and Giuliani, claiming that Parnas tried to arrange a meeting with “Mr. Z” whom Schiff assumed was Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky. But an unredacted version of the message suggested that it was actually Mykola Zlochevsky, the founder of Burisma, being referred to.

“He doesn’t have a case telling the truth, so he’s manufacturing things,” Limbaugh said of Schiff.
“This guy… His mind is so corrupted that he sees a Z in front of a Ukrainian name and assumes it’s Zelensky, and then he assumes that Lev Parnas was talking to Zelensky when he wasn’t — and he says this during the Senate trial!” Limbaugh continued.
“He’s just openly lying about things, and it’s the poison of this hatred that he’s got for Trump,” he added. “Adam Schiff is typical of this radical left mentality that has taken over the Democrat Party. It is unreasonable, it is indecent, it has no boundaries of propriety.”
Limbaugh reiterated his call for Schiff “to be exposed” and “to be brought front and center,” as he slammed the “drive-by-media” for ignoring the details that Politico exposed in a story on the Parnas exchange.
“They’re completely ignoring this in the media because it exposes Schiff to be the obsessed liar that we have said he is,” Limbaugh concluded with a sigh. “I don’t know, folks. I don’t know how to politely describe what I’m actually thinking about the guy. It’s despicable what the guy’s doing. He needs to be fully exposed.”
