In a historic announcement Saturday night, Buckingham Palace announced a “new model” detailing the monarchy’s response to Prince Harry and wife, Meghan looking to “step back” from their roles as senior members of the British royal family and work towards becoming “financially independent.”

And Piers Morgan blames Meghan Markle for what is being labeled “Megxit.”

After a much-publicized “summit” at Sandringham, where Queen Elizabeth met with Prince Charles, Prince William, and Prince Harry to “talk things through,” the queen said in a statement Saturday that they have “found a constructive and supportive way forward for my grandson and his family.”

Harry and Meghan will no longer use “royal highness” titles or receive public money for their royal duties, and while the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will continue to live at Frogmore Cottage when they’re in the United Kingdom, they will pay back over $3 million spent renovating the property.

The couple said that will split their time between the U.K. and North America, first in Canada and then the United States, reportedly after President Trump is out of office.

“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved members of my family,” the queen said in the statement. “I recognize the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life.”

The queen was careful to note her affinity for Meghan amid all the controversy being stirred up over the couple’s motivations, to include claims of racism within the royal family and reports that the British media has been cruel to Meghan.

“I want to thank them for all their dedicated work across this country, the Commonwealth and beyond, and am particularly proud of how Meghan has so quickly become one of the family,” the queen said.

“It is my whole family’s hope that today’s agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life,” she concluded.

The whole sordid affair has the U.K. in an uproar and Morgan was no exception, as he took to Twitter to blast Meghan.

“BREAKING: The Queen’s told Megan/Harry to sling their part-time royal hook. Well done, Your Majesty – right decision,” Morgan tweeted, linking to a Daily Mail story.

While they once had a somewhat friendly relationship, Morgan has been critical of Meghan and he did not try to hide his disdain for her.

“Only surprised it took her so long to get Harry to ditch his family, the Monarchy, the military and his country. What a piece of work,” he tweeted.

At the same time, the British television personality was pleased with the actions the queen has taken.

“Bottom line: Meghan/Harry wanted to have their cake & eat it, but the Queen just took the cake back to the royal kitchens,” he added in another tweet.

In responding to another journalist, Morgan also took Prince Harry to task for his actions, which will impact his involvement with the U.K. military.

His Twitter rant also betrayed how Morgan really feels about Meghan’s progressive political views, reveling in the thought that she will not be influencing the monarchy.

“On a positive note, this spells the death on arrival of Meghan & Harry’s plan for a ‘progressive’ new Monarchy. So they thankfully won’t be ‘woking’ the Windsors after all,” he tweeted.

As for the queen’s statement on how proud she was of Meghan “so quickly” fitting in with the royal family, Morgan fiercely disagreed: “Hmmm. The only thing Meghan’s done quickly to the Royal Family is break them up.”

Referring to Meghan having an estranged relationship with some of her family, to include her father, Morgan stated in another response: “Meghan ditches everyone & everything.”

And he had no patience for those playing the race card, ripping the former actress who has a black mother and a white father for being a “ruthless” social climber in a response to a liberal U.K. politician.

“Oh pipe down, you virtue-signaling berk. Your disingenuous race-baiting claims are what’s shameful,” Morgan tweeted. “It’s got nothing to with racism & everything to do with Meghan Markle being a ruthless, social climbing, fame-obsessed piece of work who’s now forced Harry from his country.”
