Nancy Pelosi invokes famous mob boss in theatrical impeachment speech

Speaker Nancy Pelosi channeled a mob boss while reciting the words of gangster Jimmy Hoffa during her closing impeachment speech from the floor of the House of Representatives. Pelosi delivered the speech after hijacking the articles of impeachment for 28 days.

Pelosi misquoted President Trump in her melodramatic reading, which was reminiscent of Adam Schiff’s fake histrionic version of Trump’s July 2019 phone call with Ukraine’s president.

Pelosi quoted the new crime flick “The Irishman,” when she said: “Do you paint houses too? What is this? Do me a favor?”

Obviously, the reference is lost on anyone who has not (and won’t) see the film. In the movie “The Irishman,” mob boss Jimmy Hoffa (played by Al Pacino) asks thug hitman Frank Sheeran (played by Robert De Niro) if he “paints houses,” which is code for killing someone.

For the record, President Trump said: “I want you to do us [the United States] a favor.” And even leftists have not accused Trump of ordering a hit on Joe or Hunter Biden.

Reminder: During the impeachment hearings in September 2019, Schiff delivered a fake account of President Trump’s conversation with the Ukrainian president.

Schiff didn’t state beforehand that he had made up the words, so the audience who was watching the theater production on live TV didn’t immediately realize that Trump never said those words.

All these hysterics underscore that the Democrats view impeachment as taxpayer-funded political theater designed to damage President Trump during an election year.

President Trump reacted to the House’s impeachment theater by dismissing it as a “con job.”

Trump tweeted: “Here we go again, another Con Job by the Do-Nothing Democrats. All of this work was supposed to be done by the House, not the Senate!”

Trump added: “Cryin’ Chuck Schumer just said, ‘The American people want a fair trial in the Senate.’ True, but why didn’t Nervous Nancy and Corrupt politician Adam “Shifty” Schiff give us a fair trial in the House? It was the most lopsided and unfair basement hearing in the history of Congress!”

While Democrats are wasting time and taxpayer money rabidly promoting the sham impeachment, President Trump is working on behalf of the American people. Yesterday, Trump signed Phase One of the new trade deal with China.

Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz has repeatedly said that the Democrats’ sham impeachment is unconstitutional because of the dismal lack of evidence to support the amorphous “abuse of power” claim.

“So the next Democrat who gets elected will be impeached because [Republicans will] find an ‘abuse of power.’ It’s hard to find any president that can’t be accused of abuse of power,” Dershowitz explained.

Dershowitz — a lifelong liberal who voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016 — is an internationally recognized expert on U.S. Constitutional Law.

Dershowitz underscored that “it would be unconstitutional for President Trump to be impeached on the current record. It would be an utter abuse of the power of Congress.” He explained:

“The Constitution sets out four criteria for impeaching a president: Treason, bribery or other high crimes and misdemeanors.

Unless one of those criteria is met, Congress does not have the authority to impeach. And if they do, their impeachment would be void. Alexander Hamilton said any act of Congress that is inconsistent with the Constitution is void.

Congress maybe can get away with impeaching because there won’t be judicial review. But that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t be violating their oath of office. They would be abusing their power if they impeached President Trump on this record.”
