Watters sounds off: ‘What the hell was that? Why is the American media sounding like Al Jazeera?’

After Fox News host Jesse Watters returned from his 10-day honeymoon in Mexico last week and consumed some liberal mainstream media “news” to catch up on events, one question immediately came to mind: “What the hell was that!?”

He expressed this sentiment upon his return Saturday evening to his weekly, eponymously named Fox News program, “Watters World.”

“I saw some CNN headlines at the airport and checked Twitter once a day and got the same dose of news that everyone else. … I saw the Iran news, 100 percent of it through the eyes of the liberal media,” he said.

And what he saw made zero sense.

Watch:

“First the libs seemed excited that our embassy in Iraq was under attack,” his monologue continued. “They were claiming it was Trump’s Benghazi, which is weird because they always said Benghazi is a conspiracy theory.”

“Trump sent reinforcements in immediately and nobody died. Now I’m on the beach thinking, ‘How’s Trump going to respond? Can’t let the Iranian militias attack our embassy. An American contractor had just been killed earlier in the week by the Iranians. Can’t let that slide.'”

And so the president retaliated by eliminating top Iranian general and terrorist mastermind Qasem Soleimani, a man far more of a “bad dude” than even Corn Pop.

“He’s the jihadi general with American blood on his hands,” Watters explained. “He’s killed at least 600 Americans in his long career. He calls the shots with Hezbollah. He shot down our drones. He attacked our oil tankers and our allies.”

“He was behind the embassy attack and was plotting more attacks on Americans. We had intel on him, and Trump ordered the kill shot. But I kept hearing that liberals weren’t happy.”

Following Soleimani’s elimination, liberal Democrats began accusing President Donald Trump of unnecessarily ratcheting up tensions with Iran, which as a reminder had just attacked the embassy and killed an American contractor:

But this line of thinking made no sense to Watters.

It would have been a dereliction of duty if Trump had let Soleimani escape,” he argued. “Remember when President Clinton passed up the strike again bin Laden? A few years later, boom, 9/11. You don’t get mulligans as a president. The commander-in-chief has a duty to take these people out.”

Years later in 2011, then-President Barack Hussein Obama almost let bin Laden off the hook again as per the advice of his vice president, current Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden.

However, the FNC host continued, Democrats weren’t alone in their misguidedness.

“[Retired U.S. Army Gen.] David Petraeus said the killing of Soleimani was more important than the killing of al-Baghdadi and Bin Laden. These guys are pure evil. But the media eulogized the general,” he said.

They equated Soleimani’s deaths with those of Princess Diana and Elvis, they shared the deceased murderer’s poetry and they described him with jarringly flattering language:

What the hell was that!?” Watters exclaimed in aggravation. “This guy’s job was to kill Americans and nuke up and wipe Israel off the map. Why is the American media sounding like Al Jazeera?

“Then Iran responded [to Soleimani’s elimination],” he continued. “The regime launched missiles against two of our bases in Iraq. I got nervous and began worrying about our soldiers. MSNBC’s reporting was very scary.”

The radically far-left network claimed dozens of U.S. soldiers had been killed.

“It turns out that was fake news,” the FNC host noted. “That was Iranian government propaganda. There were zero U.S. casualties, thank God. Now, I’m on my honeymoon out of the country thinking, ‘Does Trump want war with Iran?’ No. He’s not going to get pulled deeper into the Middle East.”

Yet all he could hear from the far-left media were claims that the United States had just entered or was about to enter into a war with Iran.

But as it would seem has ALWAYS been the case, the media were wrong. The situation wound up resolving itself with Iran making a desperate “face-saving” move and the president backing off military aggression and pursuing further sanctions.

“Once again, fake news,” Watters said. “There’s no war, it deescalated, America’s safer, and Iran got the message. … So the evil Iranian general gets dusted, no U.S. casualties, America’s at peace, but Trump has the left so scrambled they can’t give him any credit.”

But the left-wing media have suddenly been ready and willing to bestow their sworn enemies at Fox News credit for allegedly stopping Trump from pushing America into World War III …

Like the popular expression goes, you can’t fix stupid …
