Ron Howard blows up Twitter with lecture to Trump supporters on the ethics of Hollywood elites

To hear left-wing Hollywood actor and filmmaker Ron Howard tell it, Hollywood was perfectly OK with current President Donald Trump when he was entertaining them.

And that’s why, he seemed to suggest in a lecture he posted to Twitter Wednesday afternoon, he and his peers in Hollywood had no qualms at the time about ignoring Trump’s allegedly “self-serving, dishonest, morally bankrupt, ego maniac” ways.

But now that the president’s busily engendering life-changing reforms for the American people versus making Hollywood laugh and giggle, Howard and crew don’t care for him.

Look:

He posted the tweet as part of a longer thread concerning Trump’s booming economy.

The thread began earlier that morning when Howard posted an analysis piece from The Washington Post that claims Trump’s economy “lags” the economies of former Presidents Barack Hussein Obama and Bill Clinton.

As justification for this claim, the Post wrote that the Dow Jones has gained only 44.6 percent during his tenure in office, whereas it gained 55.9 percent during Obama’s tenure and 57.2 percent during Clinton’s tenure.

Yeah sure, except Obama had the benefit of entering office at the end of a recession, meaning the economy only had one direction to go at the time: Up. Clinton meanwhile served in office during the dot-com bubble.

In response to Howard sharing the Post’s analysis, a Twitter user reminded him of other relevant numbers that the Post had conveniently ignored, including unemployment, consumer confidence, GDP, etc. FYI, under Trump black unemployment has reached a historic low. But of course, the Post chose to ignore this.

The back-and-forth exchange eventually led to a Twitter user asking Howard a pointed question about Hollywood’s treatment of Obama versus Trump.

“Question: why is the smallest of achievements heralded as better than the second coming of Jesus when it comes to Obama, but with Trump, it is only negativity from Hollywood & Democrats?” the user wrote.

In short, why does Hollywood treat Obama like a king and Trump like trash?

And that’s when Howard dropped his tweet about Trump’s alleged immorality. In response, the public clapped back with the fury of a thousand suns.

The first batch of critics blasted him and other Hollywood elites for their hypocrisy and projection, given that Hollywood as a whole is teeming with immorality:

The second batch of critics laid out the truth of Howard’s tweet, which is that Hollywood supported Obama because they personally liked him but now refuse to support Trump because they personally dislike him.

As for all the current president has done for the American people — and for America’s allies in Israeli, and for the Hong Kong protesters and for so many others — to hell with them.

Look:

Like stated up top, it all seems to boil down to Hollywood appreciating Trump when he entertained them but hating him now that he’s “entertaining” the wishes and demands of an overwhelming majority of the American people.

And well, this attitude seems awfully selfish …
