All-female beauty pageants could be on their way out

In the name of “giving minorities a voice,” will we soon witness the end of all-female beauty pageants?

In post-Obama America, where science is bendable to fit individual pursuits, females no longer have the market cornered on being women.

Anita Green, a biologically male transgender who identifies as a woman, has sued the United States of America Pageants after being denied an opportunity to compete in the Miss Oregon pageant.

“I felt as though I was being invalidated. I felt as though the organization was saying I am not a woman and I’m not woman enough,” Green said.

After all, in an age of surgical prowess and hormonal treatment, just because Green was born a male doesn’t mean he can’t morph into a she.

We have filed a lawsuit against Miss United States of America LLC for discriminating against me simply because I am transgender. “This is about giving minorities a voice. I believe I’m beautiful, and I want to set an example for all women—cisgender and transgender—that beauty doesn’t have to fit into specific molds,” Green told the Willamette Week.

According to the newspaper, Green is the third openly transgender contestant in the history of the Miss Universe program.

Miss Oregon pageant organizers reportedly rejected Green’s entry and the pageant’s director told the hopeful contestant it was a “natural” pageant.

Miss Oregon director Tanice Smith and Green interacted on Facebook after Green reached out to her and their exchange was obtained by Willamette Week.

“You know I’m transgender, right?” Green said after Smith sent a link with pageant rules.

“I did not,” Smith replied. “Our rules and regulations allow same-sex marriage, however this is a natural pageant.”

The director offered to help Green find another pageant, and Green asked if she’d “be willing to change the rules to allow transgender women to compete.”

“Again, we would be happy to help you find a pageant that you qualify for, however at this time we do not anticipate the rules changing,” Smith said.

Green then mentioned contacting an attorney, saying, “This is clearly discrimination.”

United States of America Pageants’ eligibility requirements are listed on its website:

1. Is between 18-28 years of age

2. Is a U.S. citizen or has been granted Permanent Residency by the United States

3. Is a resident, works, or goes to school in the state they are competing.

4. Is a natural born female.

5. Has never posed nude in film or print media.

6. Is single, not married, & has never given birth.

Green’s lawyer, Shenoa Payne, argues the pageant unlawfully discriminated against Green because of her gender identity.

“This policy intentionally designed to exclude the specific class to which the plaintiff belongs — transgender females — is discriminatory because it denied the plaintiff the full and equal advantages and privileges of the defendant’s services in violation of Oregon’s public accommodation law,” the lawsuit states.

All of which suggests that women over the age of 28 may be next to sue, or married women — or better yet, an illegal immigrant, who is sure to receive equally favorable treatment in the media as a transgender.

In addition to wanting the pageant to allow Green to compete, there is a request for monetary damages.

“This is about justice and it’s about righting a wrong,” Green said. “No matter what anyone thinks about pageants, trans women should have the choice to compete just like anyone else.”

This being the same notion that critics are saying is killing women’s athletic events, as biologically superior transgender women dominate against honest-to-God female competitors.

Donald Trump Jr., responding to a biologically male cyclist winning a women’s world championship, said in a tweet at the time: “This BS will destroy women’s sports and everything so many amazing female athletes have worked their entire lives to achieve.”
