Jews around the globe are expressing their anger over anti-Semite Rep. Rashid Tlaib’s insulting Hanukkah message that she sent to a radical leftist group called If Not Now (INN). The group publicly shared the offensive video on Twitter …

INN proclaims itself to be “a movement led by young American Jews” to end support and U.S. funding for Israel.

Tlaib filmed her toothy, grinning Hanukkah greeting in her Congressional office in Washington, D.C., in front of a picture on her wall of the Dome of the Rock mosque built on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

The congresswoman, named an “unapologetic anti-Semite” in 2019 by the Simon Wiesenthal Center, congratulated INN saying, “…Your 2020 platform calling for every public official to commit to defunding the occupation in Falastine and fighting anti-Semitism and white nationalism is one that I can support very strongly.”

The reference to “Falastine” is puzzling as it is not a common way to reference what is commonly called Palestine by progressives.

More important, many are mocking Tlaib for her apparent ignorance of the meaning of Hannakuh–a celebration of the defeat of conquerors attempting to take Jerusalem and the land of Israel.

The Israel Advocacy Movement (IAM) posted a video in response questioning Tlaib’s motives and intent and calling out the irony of her comments …

“This is gross. Why can’t she just wish us happy Hanukkah?” said the IAM spokesman. “Here she is hijacking a Jewish festival to attack Jews. And here’s the irony of it all: Hanukkah actually celebrates Jews fighting off a foreign army that was occupying Judea. Rashida’s celebrating Jewish independence in Judea by describing the Jews that live there as occupiers.”

Seth Mandel, editor of The Washington Examiner, expressed his anger and disbelief that Tlaib’s message was authentic. “At first I honestly couldn’t believe this was real,” he tweeted. “As horrible as Rashida Tlaib obviously is, could she possibly be this rotten, this bigoted?”

As for her call to fight “anti-Semitism” in the INN message, it’s telling that only two weeks ago, Tlaib was the keynote speaker for the American Muslims for Palestine’s (AMP) 2020 election conference in Chicago. A report from the Anti-Defamation League, a watchdog group that actually does combat anti-Semitism, said the AMP promotes “extreme anti-Israel views” and provides “a platform for anti-Semitism.”

Some have wondered where other Democrats are in all this …
