Biden admits he’s willing to scrap ‘hundreds of thousands of blue-collar jobs’ for greener economy

Just like an authoritarian, former Vice President Joe Biden admitted point-blank during Thursday’s Democrat primary debate that he’s willing to throw the American people and their livelihoods under the bus economically if it means getting his way.

He admitted as much after being asked by moderator Tim Alberta of Politico about whether he’s willing to sacrifice President Donald Trump’s economic gains if it means allegedly making the American economy more ecologically friendly.

“Vice President Biden, I’d like to ask you, three consecutive American presidents have enjoyed stints of explosive economic growth due to oil and gas production,” Alberta said.

“As president, would you be willing to sacrifice some of that growth, even knowing potentially that it could displace thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of blue-collar workers in the interest transitioning to that greener economy?”

Listen to the former VP’s reply below:

The answer is yes,” the former VP turned 2020 contender bluntly replied.

And there it was. Like other coastal elitists, Biden believes he has the right to destroy entire industries because he feels the destruction of said industries would behoove America.

“The answer is yes because the opportunity — the opportunity for those workers to transition to high-paying jobs … is real. We’re the only country in the world that’s ever taken great, great crises and turned them into enormous opportunities. I’ve met with the union leaders,” he added.

The consequences of this authoritarian mindset are already playing out in California, where a union-friendly Democrat, California State Assemblymember Lorena Gonzalez, is responsible for a union-backed bill ostensibly designed to “help” freelance workers

Except, thanks to this bill, AB-5, which will officially go into effect next month, tens of thousands of freelance workers are now unemployed.

California lawmakers meant for the new law, Assembly Bill 5, to help Uber and Lyft drivers get more pay and benefits for working long hours,” Business Insider notes. “But instead, to save money, companies responded by slashing jobs for part-time and full-time freelance workers altogether — right before the holidays.”

Like Biden, Gonzalez appears to be a know-it-all elitist who operates by a “my way or the highway” mentality. And according to her, it doesn’t matter that so many Californians are about to be unemployed, because her way is the best way, and anyone who says otherwise is wrong:

Continuing his response Thursday, Biden then listed out some of the economically damaging regulations and requirements he’d impose if he were president.

These regulations and requirements included that every building be “energy contained” and that every highway contain charging stations. He claimed that the latter regulation would create “millions of jobs.”

“We shouldn’t build another new highway in America that doesn’t have charging stations on it,” he said. “We have an opportunity to put 550,000 charging stations so that we own the electrical vehicle market, creating millions of jobs for people installing them, as well as making sure that we own the electric vehicle market.”

Why would he as president want to “own” the electric vehicle market?

“There are so many things we can do, and we have to make sure we explain it to those people who are displaced, that their skills are going to be needed for the new opportunities,” he added.

But that’s the same argument that Gonzalez has trotted out — that despite losing their jobs, freelancers in California will be better off.

Fact-check: FALSE!

Moreover, it just so happens that Biden is a proponent of the so-called “Green New Deal,” a radical plan that calls for reforming America’s economy to make it more “green.”

The premise of the GND is the same as the one spouted by the former VP Thursday: Destroying the economy and eradicating entire industries would behoove the American people while staving off climate change and making America more environmentally friendly. Except that according to the actual facts, it wouldn’t even do that.

Analysis by the American Enterprise Institute has shown that the GND backed by Biden would cause “significant environmental damage” and “require massive land use.” Simultaneously, it’d put every American family on the hook for $70,000 annually.

Meanwhile, whole industries would be wiped out, and so would combustion-engine vehicles (cars), air travel, nuclear energy, fossil fuel energy, meat consumption, you name it.

But remember, Biden knows better than you. Sitting up high in his ivory tower, he and other big-government elitists like Gonzalez believe with all their heart that they know what’s best for you and your community — even if “what’s best,” according to them, is that you lose your livelihood.
