Rush Limbaugh cuts to chase of impeachment: ‘They hate Trump…and they’re gonna keep lying about it’

Rush Limbaugh captured the essence of the “futile” impeachment efforts against President Donald Trump by Democrats who don’t care about “substance” but are acting on pure hatred.

The conservative radio host shared with listeners Thursday that he is experiencing an “energized” anger because of those falling for the impeachment, which is “obviously a made-up scam.”

“This is something they have been planning regardless of substance. They are doing this because Trump won,” he said on “The Rush Limbaugh Show” Thursday. “Now, look, folks, I understand. I understand the need that some people feel to refute every charge the Democrats make, such as the president.”

“But here’s how futile it is,” he added, noting the release of the transcript from Trump’s July phone call with the Ukraine president, in which he is accused of using U.S. military aid to prompt an investigation of former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter.

“There’s nothing criminal or impeachable in the phone call. And everybody who’s read the transcript knows that that’s the case,” Limbaugh explained. “And yet what are the Democrats doing? The Democrats are fabricating! They’re literally lying. They’re making up what the president said on that call. And the media is amplifying it. And our side is duly reacting to it and duly responding to it.”

While he noted that a response is needed, he argued that the correct way “is not to accept their premise.”

“The way to respond to it is accuse ’em of doing what they’re doing,” he contended. “They are making things up. They are fulfilling a political objective they’ve had since the moment they realized they’d lost the election in November of 2016.”

Limbaugh then summed up the objective of the Democrats.

“The impeachment of Donald Trump is not because he’s a bad president. It’s not because he’s broken the law. It’s not because he’s committed any impeachable offense,” he said. “It’s because they don’t like him. It’s because they hate him. It’s because they hate you.”

The debates over the contents and intent of Trump’s phone conversation are a “futile exercise” as it will do nothing to “change the way the media and the Democrats are reporting it or talking about it,” he maintained.

“They’re gonna keep lying about it. They’re gonna keep making up things about it. They’re gonna keep going back to Russia because that’s where they really think the gold mine still is,” he said.

During a “Fox & Friends” interview on Friday, Limbaugh reiterated his point that Democrats “don’t really care about the American people” and are operating on “pure hatred” of the president.

On his radio show Thursday, Limbaugh continued in his contention that “nothing is ever enough for them because they don’t want this country to be a representative republic. They don’t want you to have a choice.”

“They are offended they have to run for election. They are offended the American people have a say in whether or not they run things. Do not doubt me. They are that arrogant. They are that hate-filled. They resent everything about this country that can result in them losing. That would mean they resent elections. They resent votes,” he continued.

“Donald Trump represents everything they hate about this country. It’s all encapsulated in everything Trump did,” he said, explaining that they want Trump stopped “because he’s denying them what they think is theirs.”

“They can only achieve what is theirs if they permanently transform this country away from its founding principles,” Limbaugh added, noting that Democrats’ “entire political purpose since election night 2016 has been to deny the 63 million Americans who voted for Trump that vote.”

He reiterated that “point-by-point refutations of their allegations” are not needed in the current impeachment debate as the long-range goal for Democrats goes beyond Trump’s controversial phone call.

“Who the hell are they? Who the hell are they to say what Donald Trump can or can’t do in a phone call with the president of Ukraine? Who the hell are these professors?” he said, referring to the legal scholars with no first-hand knowledge of the allegations who were called in to testify before the House Judiciary Committee this week.

“What gives them the right to have the permanent, final word in what Donald Trump can and can’t do?” Limbaugh asked.
