No joke, Chris Matthews asks John Brennan: Do you think Trump is sane?

On Monday, MSNBC host Chris Matthews asked one of the most notorious Russian collusion delusion hoaxers in America whether President Donald Trump is sane.

“Do you think he’s sane?” he bluntly asked disgraced former CIA Director John Brennan, who spent over two years touting the since-debunked collusion theory.

“Donald Trump?” the former spook turned conspiracy theorist replied in confusion.

“Yeah,” Matthews replied before expanding on his initial question. “Let me ask you about logic. When he sees a logical report from an intelligence agency that people worked on for weeks and they get it down to an executive summary that he’s willing to read, do you think he’s reading it like a person would read something — like let me learn something here?”

The underlying insinuation was that Trump distrusts his own intelligence officials because he’s an insane maniac.

Hear Brennan’s full reply below:

“No, I don’t. I don’t,” he said. “I’m not a medical doctor; I cannot determine whether he’s sane or not. But I certainly believe that he views the world through his own prism — which is how does this affect me, how am I going to either take advantage of this or defend against it to protect his own interests.”

It’s not clear whether he was describing the president or congressional Democrats …

Democrats spent over two years propagating the Russian collusion delusion hoax and conspiracy theory, all in a bid to undermine Trump’s presidency — never mind the facts. And they’re now doing the same with the whistleblower non-scandal.

It’s also not clear whether he realized the irony of his words.

Evidence has suggested that virulently anti-Trump officials within the administration of former President Barack Hussein Obama — including Brennan himself — launched investigations into the then-GOP nominee’s 2016 campaign in order to prevent his election and, in case that failed, stymie his agenda.

Because of this evidence, the president’s distrust with his own intelligence officials seems justified, though Brennan clearly disagrees — as does Matthews.

“When I think about him now going off to the NATO Summit, he looks at everything through a dollar size prism — you know, how can we cut back in terms of expenditures to NATO instead of thinking strategically, how are we going to ensure that NATO, working with our allies, is going to help protect this country’s national security,” Brennan’s rant on MSNBC continued.

In reality, America not only protects its own national security interests but also the national security interests of countless NATO partners, many of whom the president has repeatedly bashed for not paying their “fair share”:

It’s not clear how Brennan’s preferred strategy of just handing out buckets of money without asking for anything in return would boost America’s national security …

The interview continued with him and Matthews complaining about the president’s factually accurate claim made earlier that day that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has again affirmed that there was no quid pro quo involved in their controversial July 25th phone call.

According to the conspiracy-peddling duo, this claim is false …

The claim above referenced what Zelensky said in an interview with Time magazine.

During the interview in his office in Kyiv, the comedian-turned-president denied, as he has done in the past, that he and Trump ever discussed a decision to withhold American aid to Ukraine for nearly two months in the context of a quid pro quo involving political favors, which are now at the center of the impeachment inquiry in Congress,” the magazine’s report explicitly reads.

The discussion between Brennan and Matthews concluded with the two kvetching about a just-released report by House Republicans that disputes the Democrats’ entire impeachment narrative.

“They have no interest in finding the truth or being honest with the American people,” Brennan argued. “Clearly they have bets on Mr. Trump and will continue to stay with him. It’s the bed they’ve all made together.”

“They cannot refute any of these allegations based on substance. They’ll continue to try to disparage those that stood up against him. So I think the Republicans are just going to continue to look blindly at this impeachment.”

It’s not clear whether he’s even read the report, which may be seen below:

It’s also not clear if he’s either in denial about all the lies he himself has told or he’s simply, well, insane.

As noted by renowned conservative columnist Victor Davis Hanson:

♦ Brennan lied in 2011 when he swore “to Congress that scores of drones strikes abroad had not killed a single noncombatant.”

♦ Lied again in 2014 by claiming “that the CIA had not illegally accessed the computers of U.S. Senate staffers who were then exploring a CIA role in torturing detainees.”

♦ And lied yet again in 2017 when he testified to Congress that “that he neither knew who had commissioned the Steele dossier nor had the CIA relied on its contents for any action.”

Like the hosts at “conspiracy TV” MSNBC, Brennan has never had an intimate relationship with the truth …
