With President Trump off to London this week to mark the 70th anniversary of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization alliance and meet with world leaders, Democrats are rushing through their partisan impeachment effort.
A vote from the House Intelligence Committee is set for Tuesday, just 24 hours after a final draft of a impeachment report is to be released, and chairman Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., will then pass the dog and pony show over to the House Judiciary Committee, chaired by curmudgeon Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y.
“Fox & Friends” noted on Sunday morning that Nadler is ignoring a letter from Rep. Doug Collins, R-Ga., the ranking member on the committee, requesting a bipartisan take on witness selection, which prompted co-host Pete Hegseth to unload on Nadler.
“Adam Schiff laid out the show trial he wanted to create, there is no reason Jerry Nadler will not jerry-rig the Judiciary Committee,” Hegseth opined.

“That’s right, its a jerry-rigged, Jerry Nadler judiciary committee process,” he added. “They’re gonna call their own people, on their own timeline, with their own evidence and the president has to decide to what extent they want to be involved. But why would you want to be involved with a process that clearly, from the beginning, has been as fast as possible with a tight group of witnesses we think can help us out after they have done rehearsals behind closed doors?”
Hegseth also noted that polling shows the impeachment effort appears to be hurting Democrats.
“When you look at swing states where this does matter, because we do have an election where we should decide our leaders, this impeachment has hurt Democrats,” he said. “People are smart enough to understand a system that is rigged against somebody.
Hegseth had called attention to a tweet from President Trump noting Democrats are planning on holding hearings while he is attending the NATO event.
“I will be representing our Country in London at NATO, while the Democrats are holding the most ridiculous Impeachment hearings in history. Read the Transcripts, NOTHING was done or said wrong! The Radical Left is undercutting our Country. Hearings scheduled on same dates as NATO!” the president tweeted.

“Used to be, politics stops at the water’s edge,” co-host Ed Henry said. “Whether it’s a Democratic or Republican president, when the president is overseas Congress would hold back, there wouldn’t be partisanship or politics.”
“So, we’re going to move forward on impeachment while the president is in London working with NATO on all kinds of big national security issues,” he added. “It is an interesting contrast.”
The “Fox & Friends” crew cited a tweet from Rep, Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y., in pointing out that the GOP is still pursuing efforts to have the Ukrainian whistleblower testify amid growing concerns about the CIA official’s involvement.
“The ‘whistleblower’ should testify. Dems say no, claiming his role was only to pull a fire alarm. The problem is (1) he seems to have pulled it w/bad intentions (2) it looks like Schiff’s team told him to pull it (3) he never saw a fire. We want to know who told him there was one,” Zeldin tweeted.

Democrats have been steadfast that the whistleblower will not testify, after initially saying he would — this coming before it was learned that he conferred with Schiff’s staff before lodging his complaint.
